Day at the Beach Sunglasses Card.

Hello there,
You'll be reading this post on Friday morning (all going to plan) which is sure to be a big day here at Chez Rae - as it's prom day for our Zoe! So I am writing this on Thursday evening as I'm sure there will be the whole hair/make up/wardrobe 'thing' happening aaaaaalll day here ;-) We are just hoping the weather holds up and the rain stays away for all the photos. It may be a bit too much to hope the sun shines though, I think...
So, I'm channelling the sun with this card instead! This is the last of my makes using the "Day at the Beach" stamps (sadly retired)....
I coloured the frames in different colours and added shading to the lens' with smoky slate before topping them with Wink of Stella in clear, gotta love me some sparkle!!
The sentiment is from the Cool Treats stamps and some sequins from my stash too!
And one more photo to finish today.
Remember today is the last day to use the June hostess code when shopping SU! with me, for a surprise treat in the post in July ;-)
Well, that's the card for today.
I'll share a photo of the prom girl on Instagram later in the day if you fancy a peek :-)
Thanks so much for looking today!

Coffee Cafe by Stampin' Up! for a Masculine Card.

Hi there,
Todays card is the one I made for hubby from the kids for Fathers Day (I'll also share the ones I made for our Dad's soon too).
This set was one of those that went on my "must have, now" list from the new catalogue ;-) We do like to go out for a coffee (and cake) so I figured this would be perfect for Father's Day....
I die cut the cup from thick white card and stamped the heart (from the set) all over to decorate, masking the edges with a post it note so it didn't go over the lines, then I added a die cut lid and sleeve. I love that the sleeve die also embosses as it cuts.
I love navy and mustard together.
Obviously this card was for Fathers Day but I think you could easily swap out the sentiment to make a birthday card (or any other greeting) :-)
So, I hope your day goes well, we are off to visit college for the middle child today! Should be fun!
Happy stampin'

Two More Cards With Make Amazing Cards Magazine!

Hello!
I recently received my copy of Make Amazing Cards, which is in the shops now :-) Inside, I did a "10 ideas" feature, using some of the ice-cream papers and toppers which are supplied in the magazine. This magazine also comes with lots of other products including embossing folders, lots of papers & toppers and a whole set of stamps!
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play with the stamps for my feature.... until now!
I had a few hours free and had a couple of cards in my mind when I saw the stamp set and this was the end result...
This cute pink card uses the heart hot air balloon stamp which I heat embossed in white onto watercolour paper before watercolouring with an aqua painter. I used the new Powder Pink ink for the balloon with Melon Mambo hearts and some new Soft Sky ribbon to finish it off.
All extra supplies used are linked at the end of the post :-)
This fun card uses the Sundae stamp from the magazine, again heat embossed onto watercolour paper. I made a fun emboss resist background with the (also new) Lemon Lime Twist for the wash. You may be able to see I also added clear wink of stella to each tiny ice cream on the background for a subtle sparkle.
And here they both are together again to finish!
I hope you liked my watercoloured makes?
This fun magazine is out now, packed with amazing papers and stamps as well as tons of ideas for using the included products :-) I'd love to see your makes with these products!
That's all from me for today, I'll be back soon with a new card! Thanks so much for looking!

Umbrella Weather Dies with a Watercoloured Rainbow Background

Hello there,
I hope you are enjoying the weeknd?! I am having a much needed break from working but I thought I would pop on here and share a card I made just a little while ago as I have about a million cards to share with you!!
I had made this watercolour background with a selection of (mostly subtles) ink pads on shimmer card previously without a particular project in mind. At first I was going to just place it behind the die cut windows but it sort of lacked any 'punch'. Then it struck me to emboss the panel with the Hexagon embossing folder! I loved the end result of this card and so I gave it to my friend for her birthday recently :-) Take a look....
I used shimmer card for the top layer as well, stamped with the hearts from the matching Weather Together stamps. Sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams set.
I love the extra deep impression the 'Dynamic' folders give. It's a little hard to see how awesome they are in a picture, but I did try - so here a few extra close photos ;-)
All finished with a few sequins from my stash, silver thread and an enamel shape!
So, that's today's card! I hope you like it?
Thanks so much for looking today:-)

Fun in the Sun! Using Day At The Beach by Stampin' Up!

Hello there from a hot and sunny Southampton!
It's super hot here and right now we are all wishing we had air con at home and not just in the car ;-)
So, I made this card recently with the (sadly, now retired) Day At The Beach stamp set but I think it's just perfect for this weather, take a look...
I stamped each image then, using a blender pen and the same ink pad, added a little shading
Before colouring over each image with my clear Wink of Stella pen and adding coordinating sequins from my stash ;-)
Ah, to be by the pool while blogging... #lifegoals
Well, that's all for today, I'll be back tomorrow with another (final) Day At The Beach card.
I'm off to my craft room for a couple of hours, see you soon :-)
