Secret Garden Card 2

Hello there,

I have the second card from last weeks class today, this one is around a lot in blogland and on Pinterest sharing how to get this lovely effect for your cards. 

But if you have missed it here's how we did it: we began by stamping the flower using Versamark and heat embossing using the white embossing powder to make these flowers on Crumb Cake card from the Secret Garden stamp set

Then we coloured them in using an aqua painter and the White Craft ink pad, blast with a heat gun to dry (or leave to dry (this takes a while) and add highlights, again with your aqua painter, in the colour you have close, I used Primrose Petals :-) Again blast with your heat gun or leave to dry naturally. Add a sentiment in a co-ordinating colour, mine is from Curly Cute.

We then die cut the shape out from the largest Labels Collection framelit , tying a Primrose Petals ribbon bow around to decorate. We did also stamp the base card with the same flower, again using Versamark and finally add the stamped panel with dimensionals to finish.

Mini 3x3" Card Bag with retiring Scallop Envelope Die

Hello,

I know this Scallop Envelope Die is (sadly) sold out but as I had already made this tutorial AGES ago and I thought I might as well share it with you now!! Just in case you own it already :-) I also used the (retired) Lace Border punch and just one A4 sheet of card to make this cute bag!

So here we go...

Take your A4 sheet of card and cut it into the card to make two 13cm x 11.5cm pieces (at the bottom) a 4.5cm x 19cm piece (in the centre for the base and sides) and (along the top) a 4cm x 30cm piece for the handle

 Die cut the two envelopes and stamp all over the fronts and the inside flap of one.
Then score the 4.5cm x 19cm piece at 5.5cm and 13.5cm

 then punch the long piece left over leaving the ends intact, trim the outer strip away and the ends in line with the punched strip. Glue the bag together (with either tombow or sticky strip to adhere it firmly) and add the handle to finish!

Here is a finished design. It fits 3"x3" mini cards in perfectly...

and empty you can see I left the flap up at the back for stability of the contents and I folded down and secured the front flap so you can see inside ;-)

Card Class Dates news and Viola's Lace

Hello,

I just wanted to pop on here to let you know I have updated my Stampin' Up Calender over on my NEW SU! Site. So, I wanted to share a quick and easy Thank-you card today, I used Viola's Lace, (see HERE for how to un-mount your wheels) and the ever handy spritzer tool (which is sadly retiring, see HERE) to make these quick and easy cards..

Crumb Cake base, I cut an A4 piece of card at every 9.9cm to make 3 cards from one sheet, score at 10.5cm

 I used the Basic Grey pen in the spritzer and of course a few pearls to add some glamour ;-)

and all together to finish

Secret Garden Card Class with a Scrunch and Twist Flower Tutorial

Hello there, 

I had a lovely class last week using the set Secret Garden from the Spring/Summer Catalogue, this one will be staying with us in the new catty due out on the 1st July! So, back to today's card. I did a little tutorial for the flower on this card so keep scrolling down for all the details :-))))

This is the card first of all, we used the Tea for Two DSP pack with a doily and some spotty scallop ribbon which is on the Retirement List and of course the Secret Garden stamps and dies ;-)...

 as you can see the flower is nice and deep, definitely a large letter or perhaps you could make a nice box to send it in, there is a tutorial for making a box HERE too!

 So, for this flower you just need the dies from the set, a strip of paper approx 6cm x 20cm and some water or isopropyl alcohol in a spritzing bottle, mine is the alcohol with shimmer paint mixed in

 you need the two rounder flower dies from the set for this flower

 now, lay the larger die on the end of the paper, then concertina fold so you will be cutting through three layers of the paper, this should cut fine but I wouldn't recommend any more layers and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't do three layers of card

 you can seen the layers better here, you should have enough excess at the end for a single smaller flower

 run through your big shot (or other machine)

 this is what you should have, and with just one pass through too!

 now, lightly spritz with your chosen liquid, you are aiming for the flowers to be damp, they will just take a lot longer to dry otherwise and that is unnecessary for this flower, you also risk them tearing of they are too wet.

 next fold the flowers up around all the edges to make a cone shape

 then twist the end firmly to make the cone

 repeat for all the flowers

 now, while they are still wet gently tease the flowers open just a touch like so and leave to dry completely (this should be enough time to make your card, or 4-5 mins ;-))

 Once dry add a drop of strong glue right in the centre point inside one of the large flowers

 take your next large flower and add it to the first, try not to pull the flowers open at this point, just let the next flower do the work of opening them just enough

 Repeat until you use all the flowers with the smallest in the centre. I used my tweezers to add each flower but you can use a pair of scissors to so you're not pulling it out too far

 Leave so the glue can dry for a good few minutes and this is what you should end up with!

Pink Hearts a Flutter Wedding Card and Box

Hello there,

One of my lovely ladies daughters was getting married recently and so I made this card for her to give to the happy couple :-)

Their colours are Pretty in Pink with White and as Shirley loved the Wedding Card I made a few weeks ago I went with a very similar design, just adding the Mr and Mrs stamp to the lower right hand corner...

Decorated with flower trim roses, silver glimmer paper and mini heart hearts which were die cut and added with dimensionals

 inside I printed the insert with matching pink border and the Bride and Grooms initials

 the front of the box was decorated to match the card

 and finally both the card and box together, I loved making this and we were both pleased with the end result, let's just hope the Happy Couple like it as much!
