Ruffled Ribbon Rose Tutorial

As promised I am here today with a very simple and quick tutorial for this little ribbon rose I made on yesterdays card. HERE is the post. This flower uses SU! In colour 2011-2013 ruffled ribbon in Pool Party, yum!
So, to begin with punch out a 3/4" circle of any coloured card and cover it with sticky strip or other strong adhesive
Take a length of ribbon between 24-30 cm, and tie a knot at the end
shown left is the 30cm length and right is 24cm length of ribbon
Fray the end slightly and pull the white cotton thread from the bottom of the ribbon {see pic} to ruffle
Keep pulling the thread and pushing the ruffle along the length of the ribbon until the ribbon is approximately 14cm long
Take the knotted end of the ribbon and adhere it to the punched circle, knot down
and simply turn the circle and stick down,
when you reach the end do not be tempted to fold it around, leave it straight and just stick the thread to the reverse
Flatten and tweak 'till your happy ;-)
And that's it! I love making these ribbon flowers and I hope you do too ;-)
If you make one and add it to a card or scrapbook page then please do share it with me, I love to see your creations :-)
Stampin' Hugs for today,

  3. Excellent! You always make it look so easy to create something pretty Sara-Jane. Love the card this flower is embellishing. That blue and brown colour combination is one of my most favourites.
