Flowering Desert for an Inspire. Create Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome to today's second post. Yes, I actually wrote another quick, but (hopefully) informative post earlier today about the retirement list so if you'd like to read it head HERE.
Anyway, back to today's post and we have another challenge at Inspire. Create and this fortnight it's a wonderful sketch, my favourite kind of challenge! Let's see this sketch first, shall we...
I have chosen to use the Flowering Desert stamp set and a technique I first shared with you about two years ago in a video HERE.
For a completely different look with this image I used a Lovely Lipstick and Blackberry Bliss colourway...
I shared  the video with a basic technique but I did alter it a little by stamping these images onto watercolour paper and also adding in a little extra ink to enhance this image even more as I watercoloured.
I used the Subtles embossing folder for the card layer behind the image which gives a textured card effect.
The watercoloured paper layer is also longer than the rectangle die in the set and I have a super quick video which I'll share with you tomorrow along with a second card ;-)
Layered onto a Blackberry Bliss base and add in a touch of black twine and that's it!
Since I made this card the RETIREMENT LIST has been released and this stamp set is one of the ones on it :-( There is much more information on THIS POST that I published earlier today! Please do head over to my shop and take a look before your favourites sell out...
Finally please do check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the DT for this sketch challenge HERE!
Thansk so much for looking today and we do hope you'll join in with this challenge!
happy stamping :-)

Stampin' Hugs,

The Retirement List is LIVE!!

Hello!
The Retirement List has been published and you can find all the retiring products HERE, in my shop.
A couple of points I want to mention to you are:
The trimmer is retiring :-( It is being redesigned (after some issues with the blades) and there will not be a trimmer in the  new catalogue.
Please do pop your email address in the box (HERE in my shop) to receive a notification email to stock up on your blades. Apparently six months worth of blades have been ordered but I predict they will sell out loooong before that.
Also the Big Shot is leaving us. SU! are going to be sourcing their dies directly from the manufacturer going forward and so will also be designing a new machine. All the current dies will work in the new machine and the new dies will work in your current Big Shot. There will be no "need" to purchase the new machine if you have a current Big Shot, unless you want the new machine, of course :-)
Lastly for today, some news about the retiring stamps:
CARRYOVER CLEAR-MOUNT AND WOOD-MOUNT STAMPS
Effective immediately, stamp sets offered in clear-mount or wood-mount in the 2018–2019 annual catalogue that are carrying over into the 2019–2020 annual catalogue will be offered in clear-mount and/or wood-mount until existing inventory has been depleted or until 4 June 2019 (whichever comes first). Once our inventory is depleted (prior to 4 June 2019), you will be notified of the automatic switch to cling when placing an order for that stamp set. All carryover rubber stamp sets will be available in cling medium only, beginning 4 June 2019.
So, please do head over and take a look if there's anything you have an eye on ;-)
I'll actually be back later today with a second post for a new Inspire. Create Challenge so please do pop back. Posts are like busses around here, right? Lol!
Thanks for looking :-)

Fabel Friends Ducklings Class Card

Hello there,
Today I have another one of the cards we made at March's class using the Fable Friends stamps. These are just the most adorable set of stamps!
For this card I stamped these little ducklings onto watercolour paper using Staz on.
TIP: Use the stamparatus to stamp images onto watercolour paper so you can restamp if necessary as the paper is not flat.
Then we coloured them with blender pens (which I find easier than the aqua painters for smaller images like these) and ink pads...
I used the gingham gala dsp for the background and layered the image using the stitched rectangles and oval dies.
TIP: If you don't have all the ink pad colours you could always use your markers to scribble ink onto a solid surface (like a block or stamp case) or a drop of re-inker then pick up the ink with the blender pens from that.
I finished with some grey gingham ribbon (retired) and a sentiment stamped on the reverse of the paper which has a smaller gingham pattern.
Well, that's all from me for today, I must say I loved this class so much so I really hope you are enjoying seeing the cards we made? I reeeealllly hope this stamp set stays in the new catalogue...
Anyway, 'till tomorrow, happy stamping!

Needle and Thread stitched panel card

Hello and happy Saturday!
Todays card is another with the Needle and Thread bundle. I teamed the lovely stitched effect die with some of the gorgeous Needlepoint Nook DSP...
I added a layer of the paper just 1mm smaller than the card base (10.4cm x 14.7cm) then topped it with the stitched panel which was cut using the stitched rectangle framelits. Those rectangles sure are getting a great workout here!
I added a little of the super pretty Old Olive linen thread...
Finished with a sentiment from the set which was die cut to make the stitching and punched out using the Pretty Label punch.
So, that's todays card from me :-)
I have a busy day ahead but somewhere this weekend I need to finish up my table gifts for next weekend when we are off to Telford for On Stage, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and of course, the break!
So, I'll be back tomorrow with another make but I hope you get chance to craft today!

Piece of Cake for Inspire. Create Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome to a new card and a new challenge with Inspire. Create. Challenges.
And this week (week #40!) we have a colour challenge...
I wanted to use the Piece of Cake stamp set for my make and I teamed it with some of the SaB butterfly paper (did you get some?) which has black and white patterns on the "reverse" side and I've added plenty of glittery accents too!
I stamped the cake image and coloured it using light and dark smoky slate and also light black blends pens, topped with a glittery flower made with the needle and thread dies.
I layered the cake image onto a black glittery rectangle after punching it out (fingers crossed for the punch coming back in stock soon) but you could always stamp and colour the stand and cake directly onto the regular whisper white card layer until it does.
All finished with a little black twine bow. This card is super sparkly in real life, I'm not sure that comes across so well in photographs? I'll add a little video on Instagram/FB sharing the sparkle ;-)
Please do head over to the ICC blog and see what the rest of the DT have made, they have been super busy making for you! And we'd love to see your makes, of course!
Thanks so much for looking today, I'll be back soon with more :-)
