Bokeh Technique Card with Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine

Hello!
Life has been crazy busy here with work and getting ready to visit my Dad this week that I'm afraid the old blog has been neglected a little! I'm taking my laptop away with me though so I'll be back up and running again now ;-)
First of all I must mention that the Autumn/Winter catalogue is here in my hot little hands and it goes live on the 4th September. If you don't have a demonstrator and would like one please drop me a line ((and I'll post out as soon as I get home ;-) ))
OK, let's get our craft on!
This month in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine I have a set of cards showcasing the Bokeh technique. See them (on the front cover, eep) in the bottom corner? This is this months edition and is out in shops now.
I really enjoyed this technique (full step by step instructions in the mag) and so I made an extra card to share here when the magazine went live...
I used a colour combo of Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight and Black for this card
Teamed with Picture Perfect Birthday stamps and the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die which I layered for some extra impact!
TIP: Add a vellum circle under a die cut so it doesn't get lost on a busy background.
So, what do you think? Have you had a go at the technique yet? It's great fun and much easier than it looks to do. More examples in the magazine too ;-)
Thanks for looking today, I'll be back on Friday with a *Christmas* make!! I hope you're ready?!?!? I'm already singing *holidays are coming*

Tropical Chic for a Colour Challenge

Hello!
Apologies for not managing to post on here yesterday. We had a DIY weekend with a million jobs to do and well, I managed to do the important jobs but still not all of them, lol!
Anyway, back to cards today. I made this card as part of a challenge that one of my lovely team mates is organising, inspiring us to use new colours. I also went to town and used lots of new products choosing the Tropical chic bundle, the Bokeh backgrounds stamps and finally the Little Twinkle stamps to make this card...
Now, I usually say I'm not really an orange or yellow kind of person (although I do like a bit of mustard in home decor) but I often find I like the end result when I'm pushed out of my comfort zone ;-)
I used a sponge dauber to add the darker Pumpkin Pie around the Pineapple Punch flowers as well as to parts of the Bokeh background too.
The tiny stars and the sentiment are from the Little Twinkle set.
I like a simple layered card but I don't like to see the "workings" inside (also my prefered style of top folding makes adding ribbon or thread running top to bottom tricky) so...
TIP: I used a layer of thick white card just 2 mm smaller than the card base - 10.3cm x 14.6cm to stamp on before adding to a card base 1(0.5mm x 14.8mm.)
Finally, I finished with a few tiny sequins. I love the Iridescent Sequin Assortment as there is a great selection of sizes in there.
So, are you an orange and yellow kind of person or not so much?
Either way, I do hope you have enjoyed today's card at least as much as I enjoyed making it :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dandelion Wishes with Bokeh Background in Pink

Hi there,
Today I have a super pretty card today using Dandelion Wishes teamed with the Bokeh Dots stamps in a smoky slate and blushing bride colourway...
These Bokeh background stamps are some of the new "Distinktive" photo-realistic style stamps. They are sized to fit in the centre of an ink pad (to avoid having to go over the edges to ink)
TIP: I have found that they stamp the best when the ink pad is not too wet, so if your ink pad is new or just a bit juicy, simply press the ink down in your pad with a bone folder (as seen HERE) or the back of a spoon before inking your stamp.
Finish with a few of the very pretty, pink tiny sequins from the Iridescent assortment...
...And a strip of card embossed with the "Tufted" folder.
