A Duo of Men's Cards using the Banners Framelits and Birthday Surprise by Stampin' Up!

Hello there,

I hope you are well? I have been away from the 'ole blog for a couple of days but certainly not away from crafting! I've been very busy designing cards for class and magazine commissions too, to see some of my magazine work please pop over to my FACEBOOK page, I thought I might blog them for you to see here in the future though? ;-)

OK, so today I have a duo of cards to share with you (to make up for my absence some ;-))
I designed the first card for my BiL who's birthday is coming up (I'm 99% sure he doesn't read my blog, here's hoping!) I used the cool Moonlight paper pad and two of the Banner Framelits- these are on offer this week only for just £17.21 instead of £22.95, only 'till Tuesday night though so hurry! I love these framelits, they are so handy to have, the second card is one we will be making at class this week as I liked the first one so much!

This is the first card made in a DL size, I used Night of Navy with a white layer then a Sahara Sand to layer.

For the background I stamped three of the images from the Birthday Surprise set using versamark.

These banners are made with the second and third smallest Banner framelits, I glued them together and to the card layer with just a couple of tiny dabs of glue so they are free at the bottom and then trimmed the top.

I then held the ribbon and twine and stapled them all to the card layer. 

Shhh. NEW mini stapler coming very soon.... ;-)

This sentiment is from the set too and I love how handy it is going to be for men's cards, it's not too fussy but stamped in a different colour it could also be used for girly cards too ;-)

and this card is the one we will be making at class this week, it's virtually the same the only changes are the size (this is a standard C6 size) and the colours are changed to Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate

 the banners are the same size as before and they are from the same stack but a different pattern and I added Island Indigo bakers twine (retired but try Bermuda Bay twine instead) to this design

A Card using Garden Party by Stampin Up! and Weekly Deals top picks.

Good morning,

I have a super pretty and really quick to make card for you today, it uses the new set Garden Party from the fab new catalogue on page 138, you can take a look through the catty HERE :-) 

I really liked the ease of this set as there is no need to for exact placement or stamp-a-ma-jigs, in fact the random look makes it even prettier don't you think? 

We used a colour combo of Strawberry Slush, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz for this card

 I love this new cotton ribbon, this is the Pear Pizzazz, its a bit paler in real life than here, for some reason it looks bright on my monitor??

 We stamped the leaves first in Pear Pizzazz then added the Soft Sky flowers (*the Soft Sky ink pad is on offer in the Weekly Specials until the 12th July, just £3.71*) and lastly filled in with Strawberry Slush individual flowers. We finished with a few rhinestones to decorate.

 And a side view to finish :-)

So, this weeks Weekly Deals, my top picks are the Arrows Embossing folder which is just £5.63 this week and the Banner Framelits which are reduced to £17.21 plus the Soft Sky ink pad of course ;-)

OK, I'm off to play with ink today again as I've got a couple of cards I need to make and I have one more to design for class next week.

SU! Spiral Flower Die Wedding Card and Weekly Deal update and recommendations ;-)

Hello there,
I'm here tonight with a little wedding card for you. The colours were requested to match the happy couples wedding day colours and so I made this card using the Spiral flower die - a favourite of mine if you hadn't noticed- see my left hand side bar for a video on making shabby chic style version with this die - in a Pacific Point and So Saffron colour way...

I used both colours and doubled layered the flowers, you need a die cutting machine to use this die, handy then that there is a fab BIG SHOT promotion this month too ;-)

Some sequins, itty bitty punched flowers (retired now, sadly) and a few rhinestones decorate between the spiral flowers

Sentiment was printed in a matching blue ;-)

The inside was kept pretty clear, simply layered with the blue, as lots of people had to sign this card

and I decorated an envelope box to send the card in too
