Trendy Buttons

Good Morning,
I have another easel card to share with you today.
I wanted to add some buttons to the little tree trunks from "Trendy Trees", instead of the stamped tops, just for a change, and I think it works really well giving this set a whole other angle ;-)
background stamped using the "Good Friend" set in toning colours
Circle of Firendship bithday sentiment, I think this was the very first SU! set I ever bought, I love it and don't use it anywhere near enough, I have layered it up using lots of punches here,
Certainly Celery Twill ribbon (not available any more sadly) tied with Linen Thread as are the buttons,
And finally here is the side view,
Well, quick post from me today, I am going to do a bit more work in the garden this morning,
Have a good one,

The Rest of Catching Up

Hello,
Well, as promised, I have some more of the cards made with the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit,
Polka Dot background stamp also used on this one with versamark,
Flower from Good Friend used as a background, Soft Subtles button in the yummy circle punch flower,
Polka dot background and Word Window Punch used on here, that is not a brad on there btw, it is a punched circle covered in Glossy Accents ;0)
And finally for today the star punch was used on this one for some texture,
So that's all for today, I have to tidy up later but now I am off with the kids to see Planet 51 and brekkie at IKEA :0) lucky us!
Have a great day, do enjoy the last of the holidays,

Catching Up

Hello,
I have been busy making some cards with the lovely Scrappin' Kit we had on Saturday, now I had loads of time to do them on Saturday but I was far too busy chatting! lol!
So the first 2 photos on here are what I did get done, this card...

and this yummy treat pouch and box I mentioned before,
these next cards are some of the ones I made during this week ;0)

Loving these little punch flowers,

Some less girly ones, I like the contrast of plain circles on textured card for this one. I also paper pieced the present stacks instead of colouring them,

I think this is my favourite for today, some more circle punch flowers and the others on here are Die Cuts from the scrappin' kit, background stamp is from Good Friend which matches the kit,
Well I will save the rest for tomorrow, I hope the colours have kept you awake, nice and bright,
Bye for now, Hugs,

Little Gifts

Hello,
As you read this I will be at Julies all day paper craft class in Yorkshire! I just thought I would share with you the little gifts I have made for the other SU! demos who will be there, some of whom are Jems (Julies team) and some are from other teams, all are lovely ladies who I am really looking forward to meeting again and 1 or 2 for the first time :0) exciting!
I wanted to take a little something for these ladies but as I am flying to Julies and only taking hand luggage it needed to be light and small, so as I enjoyed making the lavender bag for my mothers day class I decided to make some more :0)
Here they are all together...

and a couple of close ups, all stamps used are by SU! please see labels at the bottom of this post for more info and links to other examples,

as are the paper toppers. Some of the ribbon and buttons are from my stash, some are SU!

So onto my little giveaway! Would you like a lavender bag? Well, pop your name down and I will pick a winner on, shall we say next Saturday? to give you a chance to get your entry in,
I will also post to anywhere, so all my lovely followers from around the world can enter this one ;0)
Thanks for stopping by,

Lollipop, Lollipop...

Morning,
Just thought I would take a leaf out of Emmas book and start today's post with a sing song :0) plus my kids love that Dell ad! well, I have made a couple of lollipop cards (well that's what I'm calling them, not sure if that is correct??) O.K. so lots of piccies today, you have been warned! rofl!
First up is a card made using "Good Friend" in Regal Rose and Brocade Blue.

I stamped the 'flower' heads and then cut them out but to finish I inked the edges using a sponge ('cause I didn't want the white edge to show),

Stems stamped in Certainly Celery using the trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig, flowers added with dimensionals,

Ribbon is Rose Red double stitched grosgrain, isn't it yummy? topped with a layer of Certainly Celery 5/8"
---------------------------------------
Next card is much the same but with a So Saffron and Perfect Plum colour combo (loving this combo)
Right, I'll be honest this blank started out as a mistake, I picked up this piece of card and thought "perfect width" once I had scored it I realised it was not the perfect length!! anyway I like the end result with the little strip! so a "Happy Accident" as some telly people say!!
Here I have done much the same design with the flowers except I used Old Olive for the stems,

Which goes lovely with the matching ribbon, and a last dimensional shot.
I hope you like today's cards and I hope you will visit again tomorrow when I will share with you a card using the "All in the Family Accessories" set.
Happy Wednesday!

SWU Colour Challenge

Morning all,
I do hope you all had a lovely weekend, back to school this morning for the kiddies, Zack is in 'till 11.30 for the next couple of days (that's O.K. it's just like pre-school) staying for lunch on thurs and fri, then next week all day (aaaarrrrggghhh!!!) anyway, I'll try to be brave ;0)
I did get a little time to play yesterday, so I was doing a bit of looking around for inspiration and decided to use the Stamp With Us colour challenge, now this was their photo....

Right, it's lovely yes? but the card I made with these colours, well, I think it turned out O.K. but it is one of those cards where the idea I had in my head ...well lets just say it wasn't really like this...

BUT I am happy with the stamps still (Good friend again) and love the colours too, it's just not how I imagined it to be...

Colours used were Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, Only Orange and Gable Green for the flowers, Sentiment from One of a Kind. Ribbon is Certainly Celery (5/8") and Whisper White (1/4")

I even stamped a little on the inside

Here is the arty angle.
Right I'm off for a cuppa, let me know what you think of this one would you?
Have a good day

Male Good Friend

Afternoon all,
Sorry for the delay in posting but hubby went out yesterday and I took the opportunity of the good weather (yay) to take my kiddies out to Paultons Park (like a small Chessington and much closer to me) for the afternoon and then we stopped off at Morrisons on the way home to get Pizza for a proper "Saturday night tea" ie: no real cooking and very little washing up!!! lol !!!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, it's homework day today in our house. Josh also got a new desk yesterday so we will be putting that together in a little while, maybe I'll even get some stamping time later...
Anyway as promised, even though it is a bit later than I first anticipated, today I have a men's version of the card from the Friday again using "Good Friend" you sooooo need this set!! I love it...
Same fold as Friday,
Bird stamped in Brocade Blue for the body (twice, then layered), Basic Grey for his legs, Pumpkin Pie for his beak,Sentiment from Occasional Greetings
This circle stamp is also from Good Friend, Card stock colours are Really Rust, Basic Grey and Brocade Blue.
And finally here is how it folds flat(ish) for posting.
Well I hope you like this set as much as I do? If you also need it drop me an email and let me know, you can order this set from 1st October, and if you pre-order anything with me 'till the end of September (or any order including Last Chance list goodies) I will send you a special little something with your order, don't forget post is also capped at £3.95 'till the end of September as my special offer to you also :0)

Todays Sneak Peek !

Afternoon all,
Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather, or are you all busy stamping? I promised myself last year I would start my Christmas cards in August, but so far nothing! not a single one, looks like I better crack on or it will be the usual last minute panic, not great eh? anyway I have been playing again with my lovely new stamp sets :0)

Today I have the lovely Good Friend stamp set to share with you and let me say, I LOVE this set, very modern and great fun. And the shape of the card? it is called "easel" I have not seen this one before but it is my new favourite shape! I found a couple of samples on SCS and followed a link to here for the template if you want to try it for yourself. I didn't follow the measurements just used 1/2 A4 card cut lenghthways IYKWIM!!

I will be doing a class with this in October if you live near I would love to see you...
Today's sample card is a girly way of using this set I think, Kraft base, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red as the main colours.I heat embossed using SU! white embossing powder to make the background
I will have a boyish one for you tomorrow using the same set....
It is really very versatile and I haven't used all the stamps yet even!!
I hope you like and I will be back tomorrow with another, Thanks for stopping by today,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx
