Inspire. Create challenge #24 "Florals" Using Healing Hugs.

Hello!
Wow! Another week, another fun challenge at Inspire. Create and this weeks theme is Florals :-)
I needed a "Thank you" card recently so I turned to the very lovely Healing Hugs stamp set and made this...
I made the background myself using watercolour paper with Smoky Slate and Powder Pink ink pads. It actually ended up looking a bit like marble, don't you think?
I stamped the roses in Lovely Lipstick and the leaves in Mint Macaron before fussy cutting! It was super quick though, please don't be put off by fussy cutting ;-)
I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in basic grey, using my Stamparatus so I could repeat stamp (which I did) if it didn't stamp fully over the background.
So, that's my card for the challenge this week. Head over to the challenge blog to see what the other DT have made and please do share your "Floral" creations with us! We'd love to see :-)

Healing Hugs Photo-realistic Roses

Hello!
Have you seen these brilliant new photorealistic stamps in the new catalogue? Stampin' Up! has created these specially etched stamps that allow you to create these different depths of colour with just one inking! They are also all sized so that you can ink the stamp in the centre of our standard ink pads to avoid any lines from having to ink over the edges (I love how SU! think of everything!)
I am totally in love with this rose set, called Healing Hugs, and I made this card on a bit of a whim after just having to have a play with the flowers...
Of course you can add in other colours with a sponge dauber to make them even more detailed but I just used Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party for these.
I decided to trim these out and fold them at the edges slightly for a little more texture.
Finish with sequins and a gold heat embossed sentiment before adding to a Grey Granite (my new favourite neutral!) card base.
So, what do you think of these clever new style of stamps that SU! have named "DistINKtive"? I am in love with them :-D Plus, there is also another set with a lovely Koi Carp image (and more) if that's your kind of thing, I have already seen quite a few lovely makes with them.
Let me know your favourite stamps from this catalogue in the comments ;-)
OK, thanks for looking today and I'll be back tomorrow with another make, I hope I'll see you here.

A Pair Of Cards Using "In Every Season" by SU!

Hello there and happy Sunday!
I have a few jobs in the garden today but I have to wait for it to cool down just a little so I thought I'd hop on and share a couple of cards with you first.
I'm excitedly and not so patiently, waiting on my first order from the new catalogue and so I don't have a lot of new things to share with you yet, but I did win this lovely set, "In Every Season" at On Stage way back in April and this is it's first inking. I thought I'd try two ways of colouring just one of the twelve images in the set.
So, one image was watercoloured with ink pads and one was coloured with my Stampin' Blends, which I have heard are coming back in just a couple of weeks, fingers crossed ;-)
So, let's see this pair of cards, shall we?
A closer look at the watercoloured image. I stamped this one onto white shimmer card for easy watercoloring.
And this is the blends coloured image. This was stamped onto regular whisper white card which is my favourite for using with the blends.
I added some white embossing paste through a stencil for some texture and some silver thread for a little bling to finish.
So, I'm going to ask that question... Which version do you like best?
OK, I am off for now and I hope to read your thoughts in the comments :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
