Sour Cream Anyone ?

Hi ,

Yesterday was a very busy day for me, not least as it is Valentines day on Saturday (really??!). It's not normally much of an event in our house as birthdays are very soon after etc. but I have been very inspired by the fabby cards and gift ideas on lots of peoples blogs, so yesterday morning *yes, yes, i know last minute!!* I decided to have a go at making a little something for my friends and their kids, and as last nite would be the last opportunity I would have to see them all together I whipped these up...with a little inspiration from Liz @ Pink Petticoat

They were surprisingly easy to make, the only thing which I made complicated for myself was to put different toppers on them !! I made 16 all together, 4 for boys in blue with a brown heart stamped with the heart from the FREE SU! 'polka dot punches' (Set of 4 stamps, available when you spend £45 until end of Feb) but I did have to be careful not to make them too girly or slushy...

The Girls ones I did in pinks and turquoise patterned paper *all downloads from Pink Petticoat* I topped some with the stamp die and love embossing folder that came with my cuttlebug. I stamped the others with the hearts from another FREE set I had when I was a SU! hostess called 'A Little Bit of Happiness' . I inked these up with a felt tip so I just got one image, then layered it with my nestie Labels 1 die. I filled the kids ones with a selection of flying saucers, jelly beans, dolly mixtures and alphabet sweets.

Lastly for the big girls I did dark pink paper and layered up
a circle of friendship stamp onto die cut and punched circles, they were all filled with revels (one for me, one for the pot ,he he !!) I used my Happy valentines stamp on all of the pots, it's from the Seasonal Wishes set again.

They all seemed to like them, so I think it was a success, let me know what you think, and I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow!

For DH from Mum !

Hi,
Just a quick post today to show you the card I made for Neil from my mum
(clue in the title! he he !)
I used a square card blank from CWC and cut a chunk off the front. I stamped the background with my SU! polka dot background stamp (loving this, can see many uses coming up! ) Then stamped the truck from Loads of love and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the man driving and the presents in the back, such a useful little tool! I then paper pieced the truck onto some DCWV paper and water coloured the man and gifts.

Diecut lettering in the same paper as the truck Doodled with a faux stitch- which I think includes me for the challenge at A spoon full of sugar. Tag I had from ages ago which were just a pack of office ones from WH Smith, stamped with sentiment from Loads of love, button from stash. I also stamped polka dots just down the back edge where it shows, ribbon from stash too.
Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any gratefully received comments !

Josh's Birthday Card

Hi all,

Thanks for stopping by today, two posts in one day ! that's amazing eh ?! Here is the card I have made for my son Josh's 12th Birthday in a couple of weeks. I have loosely followed the sketch on the Sketch Saturday blog and when I was looking around the lovely Jeannettes blog I saw that she is a guest designer on the Cupcakes craft challenge blog (well done you!) and this card fits their challenge this week which is to make a scene.

I have made this with SU! Basic black cardstock and some red card from stash, all distressed around the edges. The image was created with a comic making kit Josh had last year for his birthday, but I then scanned it on my printer so I could watercolour it with my felt tip pens, I am quite pleased with how it turned out in the end... Few buttons fron stash and a knot of ribbon added with glossy accents.

Let me know what you think and please, don't forget to enter my candy giveaway,

Sarah-Jane xx

Edit to say, WOOO HOOO !!!! My card was chosen at random to win the prize on Cupcakes craft challenge blog. Thank-you CCC, I'm so excited, my first win from a blog !!

Sugar Sugar Tag Card and Exciting News

Hi all,
Another wet and cold (groan), and not at all snowy, day in the south today :(
Hope you are all well, today I have a tag card based on Tiets template at Sugar Sugar. I made this a couple of days ago but had to wait for Julie (my stampin momma) to get it before I could post it on here so it was a surprise. Yes, thats right, if Julie is my stampin momma that means I have signed up to be a Stampin' Up! Demo. Woo Hoo !!! So if any of you lovely people need any SU! goodies I will be able to get them for you real soon.
In honour of me becoming a demo I will also be having a Blog candy giveaway in the next few days (probably monday, this gives me the weekend to get it sorted) so be sure to come back and have a little looky next week.

Back to the card. I have used my current fave stamp by Leanne Ellis, 'Blossom' and my K&co papers again, Die cut the felt flowers with my cuttlebug and a swirl my Hubby got me for christmas by Bosscut with a bit of bling to liven it all up !!

Another Bosscut corner swirl inside with my Labels 1 nesties layered up inside.

I would love to know what you think of it.

Well thats it for today. I hope you all have a good weekend and stay warm and dry.

Don't forget to come back monday for the candy. Look forward to seeing you then,

Hugs, Sarah-Jane xx

Spring is in the air !

Hello to you all,
Well the snow has all gone round here, (so glad I let Zoe stay off tuesday,) and it's rained on and off all day :( Rubbish.
So, today I have to share with you, a card for my mum's friend who's birthday it is in a couple of days. My mum likes to send larger cards so this 8"x8" card blank from CWC is perfect. I covered one of their chipboard wellies in DCWV glitter paper from last years spring stack- lovely paper that- and stamped with my Doodlebug clear friends set onto green for the border along the bottom. I then water coloured the flowers using my whispers pens. I cut out a couple of the flowers from the paper and layered them onto the welly with silicone for some texture. Paper flowers and a crotched one at the top attatched with gem brads. Heidi Swapp Happy Birthday stamp which I embossed in gold. Not really showing up very well on the picture as it's quite dull here, thats why I'm explaining in every detail, but please, feel free to ignore if you can tell for yourselves !!!!

I have even done some stamping on the inside as I thought, in such a large card it may be a bit too much to try to fill the space !! Sentiment says 'friends are the family you pick yourself ' I do hope they like it (both my mum and her friend)

Do let me know what you think,

Hugs, Sarah-Jane xx

Hello all,

Today's card is for Mojo Monday. I have used BG papers (euphoria) with a bookplate which is also a Basic Grey one, which I got off ebay ages ago and have been wondering what to do with it ever since !! The Tilda is 'Cross stitch Tilda' and I coloured her in using my whipers markers. Flowers, ribbon and beads from stash.
I hope you are all having a good day, my lot are all at school today and the house is really quite peaceful- not that they were any trouble, just loud !
Got some important news in the next few days so do come back and check it out soon.
Thanks for stopping by and remember I love it when you leave a comment and then I can go and visit you too !

Valentines Cards

Morning all,
Hope you are enjoying the snow !!! Kids have been out in it this morning but it's starting to melt now :(
Here are some valentines cards I made for Neil to take into work. They are V.V. basic, but quite manly, as it's mostly women in the offices buying for their fellas !

The stack of hearts is from the SU! "Loads of love" set, which I lurve !

And I've even done a bit of stamping on the inside too... Valentines sentiment is from the Seasonal wishes set kindly given to me by Julie, thanks Jules!. It is not as et which I had noticed much, but it has turned out to be a very handy one to have, find it on Page 60. Loads of love sentiment from Loads of love set :)

The little 'tiles' are actually magnets from a set ~ you know the sort you have about 100 of on your fridge to leave each other romantic messages with ???~ well some people do anyway !!! I think they look a bit funky on these cards and well, they make a change if nothing else...

Thanks for stopping by and keep warm,

Hugs, Sarah-Jane xx

Blossom in the snow !!

Hi all,
Guess what ? We have actually had some snow, well quite a lot of snow really, especially for down south where you normally get it for about an hour and then it's gone, you're usually lucky to get to make a snowball let alone a snowman !!! So we are really happy today, Josh has no school :) but Zoe has had to go and pre school is on for Zack this morning :(

Anyway on with the card, Got a couple made this weekend but not as many as I would have liked on my weekend off, as I had to work an extra on saturday night and I've also come down with a cold again !!
This image is called Blossom (as the title suggests!) and I think you may be seeing a lot more of her in the future...Coloured her in with watercolour pencils then I teamed her with K&co papers and some beads from my stash, ribbon I already had and can't remember where I got it from, sorry, tag cut using a sizzix die, rub on letters are by Heidi Grace. Also used fiskars threading water punch, (must get the stamping up one with no holes in next !!)

I hope you likey, and thanks for any comments you may leave,

Sarah-Jane xx
