Birthday Blooms by Stampin' Up! in Mint and Slate for a Pretty Birthday Card

Good Morning,
I am blogging early today (and hopefully more days going forward!) as I had every intention to blog yesterday but I got caught up in my craft room for most of the day and what with taking Zack to the dentist, dinner and more creating that was the whole day gone :-) So, my plan is to blog earlier in the day and then go make pretty things ;-) lol.
Right, lets see todays card shall we? I made this card way back in December when my pre order came and wanted to use the flower from Birthday Blooms in a colour that was a bit different from the reds and pinks in the DSP so I settled on a Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate combo, in fact this card has inspired another that we will make at class next week, lets see this card first though...
I stamped the flower in the new-ish Basic Black ink that SU! bought out and I have to say after trying this (and the grey) that I like this ink, it dries quickly and doesn't bleed and cleans off much easier than staz on too, bonus! This image was stamped onto thick white card and coloured using an aqua painter. I have a video HERE showing how I do this but please keep in mind, when you watch it, that I am not any kind of artist!

I used grey satin ribbon for this card as I didn't realise I had run out of silver 'till I came to use it on here! It works though don't you think? I am definitely a bit (read: a lot) of a ribbon junkie and I can't bear to part with retired ribbons...
Wink of Stella: beautiful, effective, essential in your stash.
and a top view to finish today.
OK, so I have about a million things to do in the next 3 weeks so I better get cracking!
Thanks so much for looking today but I'll be back tomorrow with a new card,
'till then
Stampin' Hugs,

  1. This is stunning! I love how soft the colors are. The ribbon is the perfect accent.
