Buffalo Check with Signs Of Santa for a Non-Festive card!

Hello there,
Today I have a card which uses some Christmas stash for a non-Christmas card!
The background Buffalo Check stamp is on the carryover list so is still available but the Mrs Clause from Signs of Santa is retired now. Did you get this set? I love her sweet expression and think that in pink she looks just adorable and not at all festive, let's have a look...
I do love this buffalo check stamp, I used it with Blushing Bride here, layered with a fine edge of black card.
I coloured Mrs Clause with blends and as she has a holly sprig in her hair I added a punched flower to cover it which has the added bonus of adding a little dimension too!
I also think she'd look fabulous like this on tags for homemade jams etc..
Finished with a chalkboard tag which was also a Christmas set and some sequins (of course) ;-)
So, that's all for today, I'll be back on Wednesday with a new challenge from Inspire. Create, so please do stop by for that!
Thanks for looking today :-)

Signs Of Santa, Little Elves

Hello!
Today I am sharing the last card from my last class where we used the Signs of Santa bundle with our blends :-)
For this card I used the adorable elves with trucks of gifts, let's take a look...
We stamped and coloured the characters on whisper white card, before using the matching dies to cut them out and adding them over a background embossed using the Softly Falling embossing folder.
A closer look at some of the images ;-)
And of course I added a little bling, today with a strip of gold glimmer paper!
So, that was the last class I ran and today is your very last chance to book for my All Day Christmas class (I extended deadline slightly) so if you'd like to come along and make up to 16 Christmas cards, eat mince pies, have fun and generally get in the Christmas spirit then drop me a line sarah-janerae(at) sky(dot)com or head to my facebook page to book :-)
OK, that's all from me for today, thanks so much for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow with another make :-)

Navy Blue Santa Claus Christmas Card.

Hello there,
And happy Fri-yay to you! My littlest kid has no school today (inset day) so we are off out to the trampolining place in town for a pre-birthday treat with him and a couple of his mates but I wanted to share another card with you today from the Signs of Santa bundle.
We made this card at last monts class which reminds to remind you that TODAY if the last day you can reserve a place at my All Day Christmas Class. I am running it on two days, Monday 15th October and Saturday 20th October. I have three places left at Mondays class but just one (or I can squeeze two at a push) for the Saturday class. It's a highlight in the cardmaking calendar with lots of ladies and this year is sure to be a lot of fun again with loads of festive makes, music, mince pies and more!
OK, back to today's card. I went with a less traditional colour combo for a change and I really like it, do you?
We coloured Santa in with our blends using both Navy pens (light and dark,) Ivory, Dark Petal Pink, Light Smoky Slate and I used a touch of Light Pool Party on the white areas to accent them.
I stamped and coloured him on regular whisper white card (my prefered card for blends colouring) then die cut a second santa from thick white card so I could pop him up easily. Now, I totally could have skipped this step and it probably would have been fine but I'd have used many more dimensionals to ensure he stayed rigid so it's great if the dies allow.
I totally started by casing my own card (HERE) for this design but changed up almost all the elements to make this a different card.
Casing your own designs (or others too, of course with credit to the original) is a great way to kick start your mojo if you're feeling stuck but as you can see you can totally make it your own too! Why not give it a go this weekend?
And don't forget to reserve our place at my All Day Class by the end of today :-)

Signs Of Santa Pop Up Box Card

Hello there,
Today's card is a Box card or a Pop Up card. I've heard it called both of these names and I thought this style of card would work perfectly with this stamp set! So we made this card (and two others) at my Signs Of Santa class last week. The ladies were pleasantly surprised at how easy this style of card was to make too ;-) Let's take a closer look shall we...
I coloured these adorable little characters with my Blends...
...and added them onto the box inserts at different heights
Finished with some of the lovely flocked paper from the matching Santa's Workshop speciality DSP.
and of course it folds flat to fit in a 6"x6" envelope!
So, I was thinking I might do a little video on how to make this card... watch this space :-D
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I'll be back soon with another make.
