The Chick from an Owl!

I love it when you make projects using my tutorials but please be sure to link back here and give credit when you make and post to your blog.
Thank-you for your understanding and I hope you enjoy this tutorial xx

Hello there folks and welcome to week 3 of Simply Stampin' Challenges,
The theme this week is "Easter" and it follows nicely with my theme this week to show you ideas for the big hunt next weekend,
I have made 3 little Pillow Box Die Cuts adding a little window to the front so you can see the little eggs inside!
Those bunnies are back for decoration too ;-) I used Woodland Walk, In colour Peach Parfait (both current) and some Pretty in Pink retired papers to make these boxes, I also used the lovely New Owl Punch to make the cute chicks,
and the 3D look at the boxes,
So do you want to see how I made the cute little chick??
Great! 'cause I did a little tutorial for you!
First of all punch out the Owl and just 5 scallops from the Scallop Circle punch in Daffodil Delight, then the feet only again from the Owl punch and cut a small square for his beak, both in Pumpkin Pie,
O.K. be brave, you have to cut the little owls ears and feet off next! I then inked the edges of the Daffodil pieces next with matching ink,
then you basically stick them together like so... The eyes are made with the Choc Chip Marker and the little beak was made folding the square in half sticking with a tiny bit of tombow in the centre,
So there you have it, Easter treats and a tutorial for you, I hope you will be able to join in with this weeks challenge at Simply Stampin'

Easter Mini Milk Cartons

Good Morning!
So, I showed you hubby's treat for Easter yesterday, today I will be sharing the first of the goodies I have made for the kids to find. I of course had to make 3 of these but as they are die cut it was hardly a problem ;-) I used Nursery Suite papers as the colours are just perfect to me for Easter,
The dinky little paper clips are from the Clips Assortment on page 99, they are the perfect size for these cartons, I tied each of them with a different colour 3mm taffeta ribbon,
Here I used the bunny from Little Additions again for the centres of my rosettes, loving this set!
and inside? Easter jelly sweets ;-)
Well, that's today's offering, I will be back tomorrow with more treats and a tutorial too!
Please do swing by for a look!

Scallop Circle Easter treat

Hello!
I have been busy making Easter treat for the kids this week and thought I would share with you over the next few days some of the ideas I have had. This one (as the title suggests) was made using the new scallop circle die from SU! and the ever brilliant treat cups,
I stamped the So Saffron card all over using versamark and the cute bunny from "Little Additions" the punch art bunny was made with  the 1"circle and boho blossoms punches and stamped with the fine detail stamp from Baby Blossoms for some "fluffy" texture,
I stamped Hoppy using Basic Phrases using my markers to miss the 'a' out and add the 'o' iykwim!
Easter was stamped using the Jumble Alphabet,
I used a Certainly Celery Scallop die cut for the reverse and stamped the same bunny all over that too, adding a scallop circle twist opening so the lucky finder (hubby?) will be able to get their eggs ;-)
{{sorry about the colour of this photo, I spent ages trying to get it right! tut!}}
Well, that's today's Easter treat, back tomorrow with another ready for the big hunt next week!

WOYWW! Finally!

Good Morning!
I have finally gotten round to taking a piccie and joining in with WOYWW, I am so excited to go and have a look at others desks but first up here's mine with more than a few sneak peeks here! oopsie! ...
Now, to the untrained eye, I agree, it looks a total mess but believe me, with this great long piece of worktop to create on I usually end up with around an 8" square of clear top to work on, even when I am trying to be tidy! I mean, at the moment there aren't even any stamp sets on here!! I was on the phone to my friend Mandi last night before work and took the (rare) opportunity to tidy whilst I chatted, I expect that very soon it will be a total dump again! So, now I am off to look at your spaces and be suitably shamed into keeping my area tidy!!
Thanks for looking and do pop back soon for lots of easter treat ideas :-)

A Different Take on Baby Blossoms

Good Morning!
Well, I managed to get loads done in the garden yesterday, the weather held off although a few times we thought we could feel a spot of rain (the kids were practically rain dancing! lol!) but boy did I ache last night!! I am hoping to get a bit more done today if the weather is kind again...
So today I have a card I made for a challenge Julie set to her team, the jems, it was to case a card from the mini but change 3 things: 1)  the colour combo, 2) an embellishment and 3) the size.
Now shall we have a bit of fun today?? Can you guess which card I cased from the MINI?? I will even give you a clue! I changed the embellishment from a die cut to a stamp ;-)
Answers in the comments section, I will even send out a little prize if anybody manages to guess correctly!
So this cards details, I wanted to see if I could use the yummy Baby Blossoms in a different colour way to the catty, not that I don't love the colour combo (I adore it, tbh) but we need as many different ideas as possible for our stamps, yes?
Card base is Soft Suede, with layers of Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake seam binding, and, as you can see the ole' sewing machine has been back out again ;-)
and this gorgeous spotty frame is in the Baby Blossoms stamp set too, such a great value set wouldn't you agree?
Well I hope you have fun guessing and I am really looking forward to seeing which card you guys think I "cased"
Thanks for stopping by today,

A Card from a Dress

Good Morning,
I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend. We have been outside working in the garden in the sun, 'tis a bit cloudier today but still good for working outside! So, before I go out I have a card to share with you, I was in Debenhams a couple of weeks ago and saw this lovely little dress, so cute!

I was inspired by the colours and stripes on it so I took a quick photo on my phone and came home and got to work! I made the flowers with the Fun Flowers Die and embossed them with the Perfect Polka Dots folder, The centres are punched from Daffodil Delight card and topped with crystal effects,
Sentiment is from Thank You Kindly stamped using Whisper White Craft Ink and punched out with the Modern Label punch,
and here is the finished card
I hope you like today's card, it is a bit different from the norm for me but I hope you enjoyed seeing it?
Thanks for stopping  by today, I better get to work then tonight I can stamp!

Jems Blog Hop

Hello again,
WOW! This is my second post for today, aren't blog posts round here a little too much like buses?? ha ha!!  If this is the first post you have seen today, then please scroll down for my Simply Stampin' Challenge Card.
Anyway we are having a little "HOP" for you to follow and see some great new ideas using the products from the mini catty :-D.
Earlier this month between the Jems we did a swap  using products from the mini, I chose to make mine using the Scrumptious Mini Milk Carton, I *heart* this die sooo much!
I cut the Milk Cartons in Crumb Cake card and decorated them using the Springtime Vintage DSP (surprised I have used that paper again?? nope me neither! lol!)
The cute little butterflies were cut using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and I also love how the carton comes scored to make the pouring spout easy to open,
I added a line of pearls to the largest butterfly and a little clip from the Clips Assortment decorated with Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Don't they look like little rooftops all together like this?
So onto JULIE next, thanks for visiting me and my little blog today :-) and have fun on the rest of your Hop!

Week 2 at Simply Stampin'

Happy Saturday to you all!
Well, what a great response to our new challenge blog, Simply Stampin'! A massive thank you if you managed to join in with the sketch last week. So onto this weeks challenge which is a colour challenge using Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Bravo Burgundy and Very Vanilla.
Now I have to admit this challenge was well outside of my comfort zone. I rarely, if ever, use Bravo Burgundy, but ended up really happy with the card I made ;-) I used my lovely NEW stamp set from the mini called Little Additions, and yes it is baby orientated but as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make it into a New Home card with all the living room elements...
So to make the chair and side table in a pattern (the stamp is solid) I heat embossed onto DSP with versamark and clear embossing powder and then inked over them to make them "pop" from the paper
I added a sentiment to the end of the Top Note Die cut shape but onto Vellum Card stock which I tied with Linen Thread
I love the little picture frames from the same set. I inked these with my Marker Pens,  missing the picture that said "so cute" so as to make it less baby and instead added the coffee cup from Itty Bitty Bits
And I also added a little bit of detail to the inside,
Well, that's this weeks challenge, I do hope you can join in with us this week too, don't forget to visit the other DT's blogs for loads more inspiration!
Thanks for looking and I hope you have a lovely weekend with lots more of that lovely sun around :-D

Lily's Mojo Card

Hello there,
A little later than planned today as I had to finish this, I had it half done for a couple of days and to be honest I am still not sure if I like it as it is? hmm, well, here I am sharing it with you today but I might still change it up a little?? I'll let you know...
Anyway, I loved this weeks Mojo Sketch and I knew I wanted to use the Subtles DSP stack, so that was a good start eh? ;-)
I made the rosette from a strip of DSP which was 12"x1" and scored it at 1/2 cm intervals, nice mix of metric and imperial for you there ;-)
I sprayed just the rosette with shimmer paint mixed with alcohol to create a pearly wash, Subtles buttons top the circles which were stamped with Dot, Dot, Dot using versamark, bow tied with Seam Binding in Baja Breeze, LOVE this colour!
Inside I added a little detail too with the sentiment in here from Crazy for Cupcakes cut with Modern Label Punch,
Well, do let me know what you think,
I am off to work in a mo to do training, really looking forward to that (not!)
Have a lovely day in the sun,

Surprise Card

Good Morning to you!
I have a very different card to show you today, it is one we made at training in Fareham. Gosh, it seems like an age ago now, when we first found out about the Big Shot!
However this card doesn't use said machine, it does use the new builder wheels from the mini though! The base is Night of Navy with Melon Mambo panel and Old Olive ink finished with Daffodil Delight Satin ribbon and the obligatory rhinestones, yum!
and the inside was stamped with the same wheel adding the middle starry wheel too,
So, I bet you're wondering what sort of surprise is that eh?? apart from seeing the great new builder wheels of course ;-)
Ta dah! there is a secret place to write when you open up the centre panels, clever huh?
If you would like to know how this was made then why not book a workshop and I will come along and share with you and your friends the secrets to making it!
Well, super quick post today as I am off out soon for lunch with my friend :-D
Have a lovely day whatever you are up to!
