Day 1 of 7 Days using Baby Bumblebee by Stampin' Up! Baby Boy Card in Green and Grey

Hello
and a huge, warm welcome to Day One of Seven days of projects I have created with the very adorable Baby Bumblebee stamp.
I knew I wanted this sweet stamp as soon as I saw it in the Spring/Summer catalogue, so why has it taken me so long to share these projects with you here? That's easy, I was asked to do a showcase for my SU! upline and friend Jules for her newsletter so I've been sitting on these projects for a few weeks! And I've been just dying to share them with you!!  So let's get started shall we?
The first project I have to share with you uses the Baby Bumblebee stamp with Smoky Slate Blendabilities and some of the adorable Irresistibly Yours FREE DSP from Sale-a-Bration 2015 to make this card... I coloured the embossed paper using a technique I saw online where you add a few drops of re-inker to a baby wipe before swiping it all over for this washed look. My Top Tips for this technique are to 1. Work quickly and 2. Don't go over one place too often or else the paper gets too wet and can warp and/or bobble :-)
I then sewed my paper to a Crumb Cake card base and finished off the stitching with some buttons.

I coloured the image with Blendabilities using Skin Tone for the face* and Smoky Slate for the body. *this might be a TMT Teaser ;-)*
I stamped the sentiment separately and layered up a few mini banners
and finally Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the wings with a glue pen
Well, I hope you have enjoyed the first card in this new series?
I'll be back tomorrow with more Baby Bumblebee :-)

  1. This is adorable and I love the colors! The 'loose' thread wrapped around the buttons is great!
