Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum and Flirty Flamingo Butterflies plus Stampin' Up! New Catalogue News!

Hello there,
I have so much to share with you today! So, I'll start with the upcoming SU! FREE PRODUCT news but don't worry, there's a card here today too ;-)
First up, I have excellent news if you are thinking of joining SU! and my team. SU! are still offering their fantastic value kit for just £99, as usual you still choose £130 worth of product but from the 1st to 30th June you can choose an additional two free stamp sets too!! Giving you the chance to choose up to £92 worth of free stamps, still for just £99!! Whoop! If you want to chat about joining SU! then please drop me a message HERE. Or go HERE to join with me :-)
OK, so maybe joining isn't for you today? You can still get FREE product in June... How do you fancy having a crafty get together with friends, either at yours or mine*? Or you can simply collect orders from crafty friends. Either way you can earn an extra £25 in product once your party total reaches £250!
*I'm between Southampton and the New Forest and happy to drive up to an hour to share SU! with you in person.
And finally for the news today I want to invite you to my launch party on the 2nd June (7-9pm).
Just £5 gives you an evening of fun and stamping, demonstrations, hands on crafting, samples to see, cake and of course your own copy of the new catalogue! But, that's not all, you will receive a £5 credit for my "Pop of Paradise Party Class" to be held on the 18th and 20th June when booked and paid for on the night!
OK, so how about a little new product on a card? I wanted to share with you how wonderfully Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum go together...
 I used Flirty Flamingo to do a wash on the background watercolour paper. Do you recognise that cute Happy Birthday? No? That's because it's another new stamp set (which I actually won in a Prize Patrol in Telford, another fab reason to join SU! btw) called Birthday Banners :-)
 The butterfly was made in the same way as in THIS VIDEO, just colour each embossed butterfly in a different colour, then brush over with a Wink Of Stella once dry.
 I matted the panel onto Peekaboo Peach card before popping it onto a thick white card base
 Finally, finish with lovely sequins.
Phew, that turned into a mammoth post today!
I hope you have enjoyed todays card and news post and if you have any questions then please do email me at sarah-janerae@sky.com

Our Weekend at The Handmade Fair and in London plus news of Weekly Deals too!

Hello,
As promised I have collated a selection of pictures from the weekend at the Handmade Fair. We had a really wonderful time there and can highly recommend it to anyone who loves any kind of crafting!! We have already made plans to go again next year :-)
I met my dear friend Laura there and took Zoe with me for a good old fashioned girly day, here is the obligatory selfie from the end of the day!
Please note some of the photos today are phone pictures so not as good as usual ;-)
The classes were brilliant and great value (if chargeable, but many were free!) as we got to have a go at crafts that we hadn't tried before or didn't know if we would like (we certainly did!) and learn a few basic techniques including what equipment you really need to get started without purchasing a load of things that are not essential :-)
So, let me share a few pics with you. These were the biscuits from our icing class with the Buiscuiteers. Sadly the ones with lots of icing stuck to the top (mine!), but they still tasted great!! We all felt we had learned enough of the basics that we would give it a go at home. Zoe's set had more dots on and they definitely fared better for the end of the day ;-)
We also went to a sewing class with Janome (We all loved the machine we used, it's most definitely on our wish lists now!!) where we made a brooch, a papercraft class with Craft Asylum where we made the pin wheel, as you see here we didn't finish this as it was so hot sat at the front of the tent! and a few displays from the tents. My only purchases were this set of fat quarters, I just couldn't resist the sewing machines ;-)
 And the last class of the day was felting. Again, we all loved this class and would love to make some more things with felt! I made the large flower and the sheep. Zoe's was the single flower with the cute bee.
 The great thing about all the classes was that everyone was so friendly! We chatted and shared ideas with the lovely people around us and it really brought back to me the value of classes and sharing!
With that said, my class dates can be found HERE. I'd love for you to come along and feel as happy with your makes and enjoy yourself as much as we did :-)
~~~
We stayed overnight in a local hotel and spent the next day in London. Zack was really little the last time we went on the London Eye there and couldn't remember it so we planned this surprise now they were a bit older. There was a lot of fun things going on the Southbank on Sunday because of Fashion/Design Week and of course the rugby including this cool 3d glasses/phone to look around the stadium and a very yummy lunch at a street food market.
We had a lovely and much needed weekend and I hope you have enjoyed this snapshot of our time away?
Before I go I want to quickly share this weeks deals with you as they are fab! Plus remember there have been new bits added to the Clearance Rack. You can see both these offers in MY SHOP as well as the Autumn/Winter supplement catalogue and the Annual Catalogue too :-)
Here are the deals...
And here is a tag I made for some canned fruit earlier this year, I love these tag topper punches and if you want to see more makes; both tags and cards please pop "Tag Topper Punch" into the search bar on the right hand side of this blog :-)
If you are still reading, congrats and thanks for sticking with me today. It turned into a super long post! Phew!
I'll be back again tomorrow with another make :-)
I'm Back! With a Little Sewing - My Picnic Blanket
Hello!
Long time, no blog! Well, a week anyway ;-)
I have had a few, lovely and well needed days away with the family in London (the magnum ice cream shop in Covent Garden was awesome!! check it out on my Instagram feed), a fun day at Chessington World of Adventures on the roller coasters and then a day in beautiful Brighton looking at the cool shops and cafes, finishing with dinner at the most amazing mexican restaurant La Choza, I can highly recommend the food and the service was wonderful too :-) It was just a lovely time spent together :-)
So, after that brief update I am back to blogging and have a ton of card-y things to share with you over the next few weeks, but tonight I want to share with you the picnic blanket I made a while back for this "summer". Sadly, said summer has still not really happened in the UK and we are fast running out of time :-( But, I have this nice, thick blanket- all ready for when it is dry.... one day.... :-)
So, to make this blanket I used a layer of thick blue fabric for the bottom sewing on a layer of thin, warm fleece at regular intervals and then sewing the bottom pieces to the top piece of fabric (right sides facing) before turning it the right way round (sewing it closed), and adding a stitched border.
Sounds easy right? And it is if your top and bottom fabric is the same size but my blue fabric was wider and shorter than the top so it took waaay longer than it should have! But I love it! So it was totally worth it!
The top and bottom really didn't need sewing together as there is no wadding as such, however I had these cute, felt pieces from many SU! catalogues ago and I thought they would look super cute sewn randomly over the banket top and having the dual purpose of holding the top to the bottom :-)
As a late addition I added a little pocket to the back to hold the ribbon ties in whilst it's unrolled and in use. No chance of tripping over those now!
And Zack demonstrating the blanket in the back garden for the photo shoot! Lol!
and here we are (Zoe and the hubster) on one of only two days at the beach so far ;-)
Because I added the thin fleece layer inside it's super thick and perfect for laying out on and not having any of those pesky sharp stones digging in you :-)
(sorry this pic is not great as it was from my phone)
So, there we have it!
I hope you have enjoyed tonights post? A bit of a change from me but I have really enjoyed making time to sew some this summer :-)
But, I have a ton of paper craft projects to share with you now too some using new Christmas Catalogue items!! Whoop, I love Christmas :-) If you would like a FREE copy of the new Seasonal catty please drop me a line. Remember: if you have ordered with me in the last few months I will be sending you a copy but if you chose "No Contact" when checking out I don't have your details so please message me and I'll make sure you get a copy :-)
OK, This has been a much longer post than I thought to start with as I just have so much to tell you!! So I hope you are still with me??
Thanks so much for stopping by today,
Table Top Quilted Camera Bag
Hello,
I do have something crafty to share with you today but just for a change I tried my hand at a little sewing recently. Now, I don't sew a lot so please be gentle - I'm certainly no expert!! but I did enjoy myself, I must admit ;-)
What I wanted was a quilted bag for my new camera to sit in when I'm in my craft room working. I often take a picture when I place things on a card before I glue them down and of course I do those little tutorials for you guys on here too! So I needed something small-ish and not too bulky to protect my camera from glue and knocks in my craft room while it was on my desk but that would make it still easy to get to at the same time.
I imagined a little quilted, open top bag but as I had never quilted anything, ever (!) I watched a couple of fab videos on You Tube by The Missouri Star Quilt Company. Jenny there explains things so well. I watched how to make a bag and a pin cushion then designed this camera bag using a few of her tips. Take a look...
 Now, I know it's not perfect - but it is pretty ;-)
 I picked this pretty fabric up in a shop in Salisbury while visiting with my friend Laura
At the bottom of the bag I double layered the batting and sewed wider strips so it had more "bounce" to protect the camera when popping it in the bag.
 And it's just prefect for my little camera, I use it all the time!
Well, I hope you have enjoyed today's something different?
For sneak peeks of projects I'm working on, in real time, please consider following me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, all links below :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with a card and a tutorial to share with you.
Thanks for looking today,
 and the second card today uses Flowering Flourishes with the watercolour thank-you stamp in an Old Olive, Night of Navy and Rose Red colour combo
 and three together to finish today :-)
OK, that's all from me for today but I'll be back tomorrow with more cardy goodness!
