Rev Up The Fun stamp set and Gorgeous Grunge by Stampin' Up!

Hello there,
Today's and all of this weeks cards are going to be a last hoorah with some retiring stamps, I will be sad to see all the ones I'm sharing with you so took the opportunity to have a play with them in my last stamp-a- stack class before they go for good. remember to place your order asap if you want your own sets :-)
So, today's card uses the Rev Up the Fun! Stamp set, I love this one, well I must say I always love a versatile set that can be used for a man tbh as they are generally soooo hard to make cards for! So when I find a useful set I do cling to it ;-) Anyway I made this card by first stamping on the Watercolour Wonder DSP using Gorgeous Grunge, (this paper is also going in 2 weeks too btw) and adding a car from Rev Up the Fun onto a banner cut from a framelit
We also added a know of stitched grosgrain ribbon with a cute little vintage trinket safety pin through it
just glueing the left hand side down for a bit of movement with the banner
Now, this week I joined in the class and made the card to send some to my friend for her son who is raising money for a charity to visit Kenya, you can read about it HERE, so I made this card in a landscape version too ;-)
and finally some stamped off decoration inside to finish today
OK, that's me for today,
I hope you like today's card and please do let me know if you would like any help with ordering or using SU! products :-)))

My Boys 17th Birthday using Rev Up The Fun!

Hi there,
I have a class running this morning but I just wanted to pop on here and share Josh's birthday card from last week. Yep, my biggest boy was 17 last week! Gee that makes me feel old!
Of course now he's 17 he will be learning to drive, another thing for me to fret about no doubt but it did give me some inspiration for his card ;-)
I used Gorgeous Grunge for the background, with the card from Rev Up the Fun and of course the all important "17" is from Memorable Moments.
I added this little Hardware clip with a glue dot after tying some twine to it to accent the number
these chevrons are from the circles thinlits flip card set, I embossed with the dies using this technique then highlighted them using a touch of grey ink and a dauber
a side view showing the layers
and a rare, sneaky picture of the birthday boy to finish (taken at Christmas)
Right, I have to dash off now to take kids to school before class.
Thanks for looking today

Rev up the Fun! with Retro Fresh

Hi there,
I have my second class card to share with you today and we used the fab set Rev Up the Fun! I love this for mens cards, I think a lot of people struggle with male cards but most of us all need them at some point so a good "all rounder" stamp set is a must in anyone's stash and I think this one certainly fits that bill, it has certainly come in useful for me a few times ;-)
I made this card which was inspired by the look of subway art and by the colours in the Retro Fresh DSP, I did use Pool Party rather than Coastal Cabana though as I found it was a bit softer for this design.
It's also another good card for posting* as there are no buttons etc. to add to the depth, these always seem to get caught for the thicker postage costs!  (*from the UK)
I added this simple detail with a stapler and some Natural Trim ribbon
and also used the suede marker to add some faux stitching around the edges of the stamped panel.
This one went down well at class and I hope you like it too?
Thanks for visiting.

Rev Up the Fun! teamed with the On Film Framelits

Hello there,
I have had a lovely day out with my dear friend Nicky today and it's just what I needed, to get away from all the stress at home right now and have some girl time. We mooched round the shops in Lymington and had coffee and lunch out, heaven!
But now I'm back with a card I made for my other friends hubby who was the big 5-0! last week.
I started with a Crumb Cake base and added a layer of Sweet Sorbet (SAB) paper before adding another layer of crumb cake card and topping with this cute film reel framed image...
I stamped the car from Rev Up The Fun! using Versamark and heat embossed in clear then added a light layer of smoky slate ink swiped side to side to give this emboss resist image some movement before adhering it behind the reel die cut from the On Film Framelits
this Summer Starfruit twine (and the cork chevron) are the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack, also Sale-a-Bration freebies :-)))
And a side view to finish today.
This sentiment is See ya Later and I think it's perfect for such a milestone birthday don't you? ;-)
OK, I'm off to finish cooking tea now,
Back soon with more!
