Rich's Birthday

Hello there!
I have been very busy with classes the last two days and what a fun time we have had making candles and matching cards for Mother's Day! Thanks to all the ladies who came this month, and if you want to join us next month the dates are in my side panel, I would love to see you here :-)
Anyways, Saturday was our friend Richard's birthday and this is the card I made for him..
I used the Greenhouse Gala papers which are in the March Frenzy offer this month with 20% off! just £7.00, email me if you "need" some of these ;-) or any other SU! products.
This sentiment is from Perfect Punches and is designed to fit the XL oval punch with a little border, as you can see I chose to cut the first layer out {as there are lines to follow} and then layer the punched oval underneath.
R, C, and H were stamped onto SU! Vellum Card stock using Schoolbook Serif Alpha in Choc Chip. The beer mug is from Cheers to You and the froth was drenched in Dazzling Diamonds with the actual mug being coloured with blender pens (which are also in the March Frenzy promotion)

I also decorated the inside with a strip of off-cut DSP and two lines drawn with the Marker Pens, as you can see from the tiny photo I forgot to photograph the inside before I wrote in the card! doh! but you get the idea, right?
Well, that's today's card for you, I will be back tomorrow with Zoe's invites I have made for her sleepover this weekend, 4 girly girls on a sleepover, that's gonna be such fun, and they want to make a card at some point too ;-)  I will let you know how it goes!
Thanks for visiting today,

Harry H's Birthday

Hello,
What you up to today? I am busy again, I made a card for a special friend this morning and now I must get back to painting , this time it's Zack's new room! he is soooo excited at finally getting "his very own bedroom" aww, bless!
Anyway, speaking of Zack he had 2 parties this last weekend one on Saturday, one on Sunday, with both the boys being called Harry ;-) So I had to make 2 different cards of course! I used a colour combo based on the lovely Celebrations DSP, {In my paper share, see top of bog} Marina Mist, Real Red and Pear Pizzaz, Brilliant stamp set used was Party This Way,
Harry was stamped using Schoolbook Serif alpha punched with the Scallop Square and then layered with the new straight square punch,
I picked out the 6 on this balloon with the 1/2" circle punch,
and I inked the sentiment using Marker Pens, doesn't it look cool? If you need the Markers (and you really do ;-))I have a Marker Club starting in January, see post at top of blog :-D
Arty Angle to finish,
Sorry for a quick post today but I really must get painty again, lol.
Hugs,

Happy Fathers Day and a Simple Boys Card

Hello
First of all Happy Fathers Day to all you men out there!
Hows your weekend going? We are having a very quiet day as hubby is back in hospital with his kidney stones! and for Fathers Day too, boo :-( We are re-scheduling it 'till next Sunday I think!
But other things keep going while he is away, the walls are almost finished on the extension so that's one good thing ;-)
I have been keeping busy whilst I am here on my own as I have 6 birthdays next month, all done and ready but I will have to show you as they come round as I know a few of the people read this blog!
I have a really simple card I made for Josh to take to his friends 13th birthday (ooo, teenage boys, not the easiest to make for, but I think this worked out O.K.) last weekend, it uses Sweet Pea dsp (only available 'till the end Sept so better get some quick!)
Name stamped with Schoolbook Serif alphabet, punched stars (what would I do without this punch for male cards?) Sentiment from A Bit of Birthday Cheer and a couple of Earth Elements buttons to finish it off,

Arty Angle, I layered the main sentiment and a couple of the stars too and roughed up a few of the layers too,
Sorry for the short post, I hope to be back tomorrow but off to hospital to visit the patient now, Thanks for stopping by and Stampin' hugs to you all,

Fathers Day Class Peek

Hello all,
What you up to today? I had a very productive day yesterday, I managed quite a few projects which I will share with you over the next few days, including a new take on my milk carton (tutorial in side bar). And you get a little look at my new window too! It's great for taking photos of cards on, hubby will be pleased! lol!
Anyway onto today's project, We will be making this card and pouch on the 15th of this month (yes, I know it's early for Father's Day, I must have been a boy scout in a previous life ;-))
Papers are still the fab Sweet Pea DSP, I really like them, can you tell??? Great Girly and Men's papers in there, 48 double sided gorgeous papers for just £19.50, it's fantastic value.
I layered up punched stars and added Crystal Effects to two and a button from the Neutrals pack to the third, brad from Hodgepodge Hardware tin to add the double stitched grosgrain ribbon tab, the dad is made with "All in the Family" stamp set water coloured with blender pens,
O.K. this is a rubbish picture, I just couldn't get it to focus :-( but I wanted to just show you the inside,

Arty angle,

And finally a little treat pouch for a few of Dad's favourite sweets. Colour combo for this set is Choc Chip, So Saffron and Taken with Teal, (I am soo gonna miss this colour, I will definitely be stocking up on it before it goes!)
Well that's all from me today, got another busy one ahead,
Thanks for stopping by, Hugs Sarah-Jane xxx
Oh yes, I just remembered I had a request from Shelly asking how to make an easel card. Well it is basically A4 card cut lengthways to make a long A5 blank, score it in half and then score it again just on 1 side in half again, then fold as the picture for Trendy Buttons or Lily's Birthday. I hope this makes sense if not then please email me and I will do you a quick picture tutorial. Bye xxx

Zoe's birthday card....

.....and Warning! LOADS of piccies :-)
Our Zo is a very pink sort of girl so I decided that the only colour I could use was Pink Passion ;0) teamed with the fab Crazy for Cupcakes set, you will see why a little further down..
Spots and Hearts in background are from the Sunny Days scrappin' kit, Schoolbook serif used for the name and Happy Birthday is from Happy Moments SAB set {no longer available sadly ;-(}

Inside was finished off with Cupcake wheel,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just love this photo of her, we have a little tradition of the kids coming into our room and sitting at the end of our bed on birthdays and Christmas mornings to open their pressies.
She was sooooo excited about her pressies, even before she knew what she was getting, as she wanted all surprises. This is her opening her i-pod :-D
I didn't make her a large cake, instead pink butter-cream topped cupcakes, yummmm!
a close up of said cakes, topped with the edible glitter I got at the Ideal Home Show last week. And the little flowers, cute eh? well they should be as I sat up until 1.30am last Friday night punching them out with a very small flower cutter, lol!
Finally a sweet piccie of her as her dad bought them in to sing Happy Birthday,
Safe to say it was "her best birthday ever!" bless x
Thanks for dropping by today, don't forget to leave a comment and let me know you have been ;-)
Saturdays class sneek peek!
Hello folks!
Hope you are all doing well today, it's just started to rain here :0( but we have been out in Hythe this morning, Zack was charming the ladies in the cafe! lol!
Anyway here I have the first one of the cards we will make on Saturday at my "Lads and Dads" class, I am really looking forward to this class as I have so many ideas for men's cards with just one or two stamp sets!
For today's card I have used a card blank from CWC and the rest is SU! choc chip dsp {included in the paper share}, matching choc chip card, ribbon and ink, very vanilla ribbon, bashful blue ink used on the shrink plastic (loving shrink!) and Oval all and Schoolbook Serif Alphabet. Punches used are oval and scalloped oval and not forgetting the scallop edge.
Here is a fancy shot to show the layers. Well I still have a couple of places left for Saturday so if you are near please, don't be shy and drop me a line, all contact details in the side bar.
Edit to say: I'm entering this card into Crystals Fathers day contest which has a blue and brown theme, Hope you don't mind I cheated a little by using this one :0)
Happy Tuesday (only 4 days 'till the l-o-n-g weekend ;0) yay!)
Come back tomorrow for another sneak peak,
A few thing to share
Morning all,
Hope your week is going well, I have a couple of things to share with you today. The first is that I have a new email address ! It is in the side bar for you to find whenever you need to contact me, don't worry, I am still using the other one and so can you too if you want to, but I thought it may be easier to have my own email for blogging and any orders.
Second is to say thank-you to the very thoughtful and talented Alex who kindly gave me 2 awards, I am ashamed to say a couple of weeks ago, I really do appreciate being given these awards and am very sorry for being a bad blogger and not posting earlier (((hugs alex)))
Lastly I actually have a card to show you! My mojo has gone completely at the mo, hopefully it will be back soon! I had a text yesterday morning from a friend saying can you make me a card for my dads 65th birthday, oh, and I need it by tonight!!! Well this took me forever to make and is actually the second card I made for her (first one was O.K. but I didn't think it was special enough for a 65th, I will show it to you later when I have adapted it for a more general birthday)
I am actually really pleased with the end result. All SU! available through me: I used my All in the Family set for this but masked the head as her dad is bald ( I drew in the top of the head with a pen!) Always Artichoke DSP (level 1 Hostess) Always artichoke cardstock, Schoolbook Serif Alphabet to spell out "dad" in the same colour ink and finally I die cut 65 from matching card as I don't have the nubers to match (yet!) which I then coated in Glossy Accents, nesties Labels 1 and ribbon from stash.
I hope you like it too, Thanks for dropping by and for any comments you may leave,
Edit to say, I am entering this into cupcakes craft challenge which this week is to put numbers on your card and this one fits! yay! (thanks to Julie x)
May calender page
Hello,
I hope you have all had a lovely long weekend! I unfortunately had to work :( but I did have a lovely day on Saturday and thank-you for your kind wishes for our anniversary. Hubby really did spoil me this year and as we don't normally do presents it was a real surprise! Here are the lovely flowers he got me
and here are my kiddies when we went out for tea, this was thier choice of pose for the camera, honest! at least I can show them this when they are older and say "look, you were friends sometimes !" lol!
Anyway onto the calender, I have used my very favourite stamps, which I haven't used nearly enough...yet! Crazy for cupcakes, which I coloured in using my ink pads and a blender pen. I also used schoolbook serif alphabet, 5 petal and Boho Blossoms punches and not forgetting the very lovely SWEET ALWAYS Papers which are on offer at the moment! (4 for 3 bargain!) I know I shall be stocking up on these this month!
Well thanks for stopping by and lisening to me go on about my anniversary!
and don't forget only 4 days 'till the weekend again!
We are going for a look round Zacks "big school" this afternoon ( OMG! what will I do when my baby goes to school too?!!?!! ) but I will have to be brave...
Wedding card
Afternoon all,
Had to go into town this morning to get shoes for Josh, OMG it was manic !! What do us Brits all do when it's the holidays and it rains? Yes! That's right, Shop!
Anyway I managed to get in and out without spending too much (no craft shops in the town centre that's why! lol!)
Right, here is a wedding card I made yesterday, it is one of two I needed from the same family, this one is for the daughter to give and I'll put the other one on tomorrow, I have seen lots of these around on blogs at the mo including Jo's and Irina's lovely designs. The measurements for this one are: 3.5"x9" piece of card to start, score at 2" and 5.5" , scallop the top edge and then, whilst folded, I trimmed from the top of the card where it folds over to 1" in at the bottom, in a diagonal cut, to make the sides slope , don't cut the top section though. I hope this makes sense, but if you have any questions then please email me or check out SCS for more detailed instructions. Here is the outside...
and here is the inside section, Most things used to make this card are from the SU! Love stories scrap booking kit, not just for scrap booking you know! except the ribbon which is certainly celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The little adhesive pearls, glossy accents and glitter on the hearts are all from my stash. All the decorations are card stock stickers so it was really quick to put this together and of course it all co-ordinated perfectly, one of the most fantastic things about SU! products !!!
The last thing I have to show you today is my calender, Now regular readers of this blog will know that I have had loads of orders this month for cards and have struggled to keep up with much more crafting than these, much appreciated, orders. Sooo Zoe has made this months calender page....
She used my Schoolbook Serif Alphabet to write the title and a bunny stamp we picked up the other day as it was only 99p ! and coloured them in (carefully!!) with mums very special pens (pro-markers) and Gran gave her the die cut chick on her easter egg.
Well that's it for today and I will be back soon with the other wedding card to show you,
Have a good one, Sarah-Jane xx
