Trees in Teal

Hello,
I hope you are all well today, I have a little card today totally inspired today by the paper I used on it, The paper is from the Sweet Pea stack, this is only available until the end of September, so if you haven't got it yet then you better hurry ;-)
Colours used are Taken with Teal, Basic Grey, Old Olive, Choc Chip and Summer Sun.

Trendy Trees stamp set used and this set is 20% off this month so it is a bargain at just £10.36! but only 'till the end of August, I also used it to make the background on the right hand side of this card.

I used the Cutter Kit to distress the edges and finished it off with my favourite Linen Thread.
Thanks for stopping by today,

Happy Fathers Day and a Simple Boys Card

Hello
First of all Happy Fathers Day to all you men out there!
Hows your weekend going? We are having a very quiet day as hubby is back in hospital with his kidney stones! and for Fathers Day too, boo :-( We are re-scheduling it 'till next Sunday I think!
But other things keep going while he is away, the walls are almost finished on the extension so that's one good thing ;-)
I have been keeping busy whilst I am here on my own as I have 6 birthdays next month, all done and ready but I will have to show you as they come round as I know a few of the people read this blog!
I have a really simple card I made for Josh to take to his friends 13th birthday (ooo, teenage boys, not the easiest to make for, but I think this worked out O.K.) last weekend, it uses Sweet Pea dsp (only available 'till the end Sept so better get some quick!)
Name stamped with Schoolbook Serif alphabet, punched stars (what would I do without this punch for male cards?) Sentiment from A Bit of Birthday Cheer and a couple of Earth Elements buttons to finish it off,

Arty Angle, I layered the main sentiment and a couple of the stars too and roughed up a few of the layers too,
Sorry for the short post, I hope to be back tomorrow but off to hospital to visit the patient now, Thanks for stopping by and Stampin' hugs to you all,

Milk Carton for Dad's Day

Hello to you all,
I have popped on here to share a few photos of another Milk Carton I have made to send to my dad for Father's Day, I have filled it with sweets for him, all ready to post on Monday. I hope it gets there in time (it's got to go to Spain!)
They are busy digging the footings today for the extension today so I have not got any jobs to do in the house without getting in someones way, so nothing else to do but play then eh?!
Here it is front and back, I covered the Kraft base using the Cheers to You wheel and versamark, star punched out from Sweet Pea Designer Paper, Beer Mug is from Cheers to you, sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings set, and the football and boot is Just Soccer. Yummy Old Olive Satin Ribbon wrapped with Linen Thread finishes off the top.
As you can see I made it to match the card I showed you a few weeks ago.
Milk Carton Tutorial link is in the side bar-> -> -> ->

Short and sweet today I'm afraid, hopefully I will be back tomorrow with some more cardy stuff to share with you all, in the mean time have a nice Saturday and if you watch the footie "Come on England" :-)
Stampin' Hugs to you all,

2 Cards from me today

Hello,
I know I have been a bad blogger again and I am sorry, but I have been really busy, I promise! Hubby has spent a couple of days in hospital with kidney stones again (stressful to say the least, for all concerned) and I have also been Very Busy getting ready for Saturdays Craft show.
So anyway to make up for it I have 2 cards to share with you today!
First up is a very simple card, this is another one for my mum, she gave it to my elderly Aunt. It uses the lovely DSP from the sweet pea paper stack, It is so pretty it really needed very little added to make a lovely card,
sentiment from oval all,
I added lashings of crystal effects to the butterfly to highlight it,
and another blurry inside picture, not sure why the inside ones are like this lately?!
anyway, you get the idea ;-)
Now, the second card for you today is a bit different from what I usually make... but I do like it,
It uses Bella Toile with the scallop edge punch, some yummy Red Satin ribbon (great for nice big, lush bows)
and finally an arty angle showing the layers. Buttons along the bottom and sentiment again from Oval All.
Well, that's all from me today, I hope you like what I have shared with you today and thanks for bearing with me this week, please do leave a comment of you have time :-)
Bye for now, Hugs Sarah-Jane xxx

2 Of The Same

Good morning,
Well, I am unpacked and all the washing done from our little trip, we had a nice time but boy, did we pick the coldest weekend to go away??? Unfortunately we didn't get to do much as we would have liked due to the cold, wet weather, but still it was nice to get away.
Just before we went away I was asked by a friend to make a card for her dads birthday, I had made one a week or so before ready for Fathers Day and she wanted the same but with birthday. Clear as mud? Yes? Well hopefully the photos will do a better job of explaining!! ;-) he he.
As you can see I layered up the images a bit more on the 2nd one and also added a bit of paper piercing to some of the squares, Football and boot are from Just Soccer, Beer mug is from Cheers to You, Fathers day sentiment is from Occasional Greetings, and Birthday one is from Cheer and Wishes.

I also used lashings of Crystal Effects on the top stars, love it!
and this is the inside of the birthday card...

Well, she was happy with it and I hope her Dad was pleased too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before I go and do a few bits, just a quick reminder that I have just 5 shares left now for the new colour ribbon, card and paper share, please see top post or email me on sarah-janerae@sky.com for more info.
Good to be back and looking forward to hearing from you, my lovely blogging buddies :-)
Bird House Milk Carton
Good Morning to you,
I am off this morning to Weymouth for the weekend, So excited :-)
So anyway, as promised here is the Milk Carton I made the other day using THIS tutorial.
I used So Saffron Card stock with Vintage Vogue stamps with the Bird and Butterfly punches.
Around the back and sides I used the delicate vine stamp and made it trail up the sides rather than all over using Versamark, the long stamp was used along the bottom in So Saffron Ink.
Here is a closer look at the bird, I punched the body from Choc Chip card which I then edged in Platinum shimmer paint. I punched the wing and branch from Sweet Pea DSP. The window behind her is backed with Vellum card stock.
And finally here is the "Roof" it is again made from Sweet Pea DSP as is the butterfly. I didn't attach the roof with adhesive but instead just clipped it on using the paperclip from the clips assortment, these are lovely little clips, strong enough to hold boxes shut but small enough for adding to cards,
So, that's all for today,
I hope you all have a lovely weekend too,
Thanks for dropping by, Hugs Sarah-Jane xxx
Fathers Day Class Peek
Hello all,
What you up to today? I had a very productive day yesterday, I managed quite a few projects which I will share with you over the next few days, including a new take on my milk carton (tutorial in side bar). And you get a little look at my new window too! It's great for taking photos of cards on, hubby will be pleased! lol!
Anyway onto today's project, We will be making this card and pouch on the 15th of this month (yes, I know it's early for Father's Day, I must have been a boy scout in a previous life ;-))
Papers are still the fab Sweet Pea DSP, I really like them, can you tell??? Great Girly and Men's papers in there, 48 double sided gorgeous papers for just £19.50, it's fantastic value.
I layered up punched stars and added Crystal Effects to two and a button from the Neutrals pack to the third, brad from Hodgepodge Hardware tin to add the double stitched grosgrain ribbon tab, the dad is made with "All in the Family" stamp set water coloured with blender pens,
O.K. this is a rubbish picture, I just couldn't get it to focus :-( but I wanted to just show you the inside,
Arty angle,
And finally a little treat pouch for a few of Dad's favourite sweets. Colour combo for this set is Choc Chip, So Saffron and Taken with Teal, (I am soo gonna miss this colour, I will definitely be stocking up on it before it goes!)
Well that's all from me today, got another busy one ahead,
Thanks for stopping by, Hugs Sarah-Jane xxx
Oh yes, I just remembered I had a request from Shelly asking how to make an easel card. Well it is basically A4 card cut lengthways to make a long A5 blank, score it in half and then score it again just on 1 side in half again, then fold as the picture for Trendy Buttons or Lily's Birthday. I hope this makes sense if not then please email me and I will do you a quick picture tutorial. Bye xxx
