Two Styles of Acetate Boxes For Christmas

Hello there,
I hope your Christmas preparations are going well? I have just a few more nights at work and a little house work to do before I can slow down a bit and enjoy the celebrations! But, the presents are wrapped and I feel like I'm getting there, slowly....
So, I think this may be my penultimate post for Christmas makes on here (unless I find something else I've forgotten about) and its a fun and easy couple of makes today making two different Acetate Boxes feel a little more festive. You could decorate these first, Tiny Treat Boxes, for the Christmas Day table as they are super quick to decorate with any festive DSP you have at home. For mine I used the cute Christmas Around the World paper...
I simply wrapped a strip of the paper around the outside of the boxes and filled them with celebrations choccies :-)
I added a layer of garden green card under a square of the paper and topped them with a mini gold glitter deer from the Card front Builder Dies.
And for the second box I used one of the Acetate Card Boxes and simply dry embossed it with the snowflake embossing folder (sadly it appears this is now sold out) but you can try this with any of your 11.4 x 15.7 cm (4-1/2" x 6-3/16" ) sized folders, extending this to something you can make all year round.
It makes a lovely and quick way to package some cards (or chocolates or smellies etc....) as a gift :-)
Well, That's all from me for today,
I'll be back soon with those last Christmas makes!
'Till then, happy stamping :-)

Cover Tiny Treat Boxes using Birthday Blooms DSP with FREE Mini Tutorial

Hello!
I was playing aroud with the Birthday Blooms DSP last week and I thought it would look lovely against the Kraft colour of the Tiny Treat Boxes, how cute would this be to gift a pair of earrings or even some chocolate for Valentine's day? ;-)
Have a peek...
I added a mini banner to the top, stamped using a Birthday Blooms sentiment, and finished with a blushing bride glimmer paper flower
I inked the edges of the paper using a sponge and a Watermelon Wonder ink pad before adhering to the box.
So I thought I'd share a mini tutorial with you today showing how I made the notch in the paper to match the box front, easily!
Start by cutting 5 squares of DSP to 4.5cm (or approx 1+3/4")
And mark the halfway point on one of the squares - 2.25cm (or approx 7/8")
To avoid measuring the halfway point you could simply fold and pinch a crease ;-)
Take your 3/4" circle punch
and using your centre mark, punch away approx a third of the circle.
Test it against the box to see if you need to remove any more before sticking.
If it's OK, ink the edges and adhere to the front of your box!
And you're done!
So, I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial?
Thanks so much for looking today,

No Bones About It Mini Pop Up Card in a Box! with Stampin' Up's Tiny Treat Boxes.

Hellooo!
I am super late posting today as I had a fun card class this morning and a few bit to do this afternoon. So, I am here now before I go to work this evening with another mini pop up card in a box. You may notice that I am (still) loving these and I'm sure this won't be the last you see of them. If you want to watch the video with directions, tips and measurements for how to make your own version of these cards  then please visit THIS POST.
OK, so here is todays version using No Bones About It....
For this version I used pretty coloured Washi Tape to decorate the outside of the box,
with more washi tape on the top of the lid (instead of stamping) which I continued all the way around the inside ;-)
So, I wanted to use this card to make a dinosaur card in girly-er colours rather than the usual more masculine browns and/or blues usually seen. Because girls like dinosaurs too!! ...and sparkly sequins ;-)
OK, I'm going to admit a boo boo here. I thought I had picked up the Rose Red ink pad to stamp these bones over the pink pirouette solid but I actually had grabbed Real Red. I (surprisingly) like this combo even though it wasn't something I would have planned, what do you think? Be honest..... ;-)
I used a lot of different coloured ink pads for this card but you could easily make it in a much simpler colour combo.
and I added a secret message in the bottom of the box too
So, I hope you liked today's card? and I'll be back tomorrow with a new Two Minute Tuesday Video for you so don't forget to stop by :-)
Thanks for looking today.

Video Tutorial: Tiny Treat Box Mini Pop Up Card using Butterfly Basics by Stampin' Up!

Hello!
I'm here today with a little, fun card in a box. This is quite different from the others I have made recently and you find a lot of online as this one really does "Pop up"! I follow Dawn Bourgette, a demo from the US on Instagram and just loved this idea, you can see Dawn's card HERE. Thanks for the inspiration Dawn! Obviously I really wanted to make this card but unfortunately there were no measurements on Dawn's post and as I made it I figured out a few more tips and tricks so I thought I would make a video and share these with you!
I decided to use the Butterfly Basics Stamp set for my design...
I made the Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe one in the Video but we made the Cantaloupe* and Pistachio* at class. Here they are closed, wrapped in washi tape (see Washi on page 157 of the Annual Catty) to decorate these boxes.
* now retired colours
The lids are decorated with Work Of Art Stamps for the sentiment teamed with the Butterfly Basics.
**In a total coincidence Work Of Art is on Offer for this week only- Just £15 (in clear mount) 'till the 30th June '15**
As you open the boxes the Jack in the box card starts to pop up, just pull the thick twine...
 To see your message!
I love the Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron version
Please feel free to pin this picture so you can easily find this tutorial again :-)
OK, lets take a look at the video!
The measurements for the inner piece as promised on the video,
*Please note I have not made this card in inches- just converted the measurements!
Cut white card to 4.7cm wide or 1+7/8" x full length of card.
Score at 4.5cm or 1+3/4"
Stamp Now!
Then score at 9cm, 13.5cm, 18cm, 22.5cm and 27cm or
3.5", 5+3/8", 7+1/8", 8+7/82, 10+5/8"
These measurements make a lot more sense when you watch the video and there are also a few measurements that matter when stamping in there too!
And finally one more set of pictures to finish today :-)
Well, this post has been something of a labour of love so I really hope you have enjoyed this card in a box post! and be sure to give it a whirl. If you do please link back here so I can see and remember to share where you saw this tutorial too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today :-)
