Amazing Birthday by Stampin' Up! Shaker Cards with Sequins!!

Hello there,
I hope you have had a great weekend trick or treating. We had a lovely time on Friday with a good turn out (all my goodie bags went I'm pleased to say!). Unfortunately I have been felling poorly all weekend since then. We go to an organised Fireworks display for an hour on Saturday night but apart from that we have been stuck indoors as I only seem to be able to do about an hours worth of anything then I need a little snooze ;-)
So today's post is going to be photo heavy and short on words I think, lol.
**I just read back what I typed and it seems my typing accuracy is even worse than usual when I'm not well!!**
Anyway, I recently needed two cards for upcoming birthdays, one for a friend at hubbys work and one for my friends daughter so I did something I rarely do and made the same card twice. Although I did make them in different colourways!
I used the Amazing Birthday stamp set which we received FREE at convention this year and I have been waiting to have a play with this set :-) I have also been wanting to make a shaker card for a while now as they seem to have become popular again recently.
Take a look at my attempt...
This first one is in Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder colours
This little cake is in the stamp set, I simply layered it up with Glimmer paper for bling!
Super shiny sequins inside the tag ;-)
I used a mix of In Colour Sequins and a few of just the silver sequins from the Frosted Sequins pot
and this version is a Crisp Cantaloupe and Pool Party colour combo
Inside both the tags I inked the sentiment using my markers then added three strips of hearts across the bottom from  the Borderettes stamp set in matching colours
Plenty of depth in this card although I still managed fit it into an envelope ;-)
TOP TIP: Inside I needed to add an insert plus an extra card layer to balance out the weight on the front of the card
and both together again to finish
OK,  that's me done here for today, I'm off for a little feet up time before I have to start my next job!
Thanks as ever for popping over for a look at my makes.
Back tomorrow with another :-)

Stampin' Up! Convention in Brussels Part 3

Hello there!
And welcome to my last instalment of Brussels 2014 at Stampin' Up! Convention. Today's post has many more pictures of Brussels than actual convention as the Saturday's events finished in the afternoon. We then had the Saturday night and 'till 1pm on the Sunday to fill. I'm so glad we did too as there was so much to see but I don't think we really did a quarter of what there was to do!
Anyway, when we got up Saturday morning this was the outlook, to the right, out of our hotel window. You can see the sun coming up over Brussels and it just caught this golden statue in its path perfectly. (I shared this on Instagram at the time, feel free to follow me there if you want)
After breakfast we headed back over to the convention centre and had lots more talks and demos including from Paula Gorry our UK Business development manager and also a PLxSU demo by Katie, Carrie and Shannon from the home office...
And of course the convention ended with a talk and demo from Shelli herself. We were sat right up the front for this last section so it felt like we were crafting right with her ;-)
She was showing us projects using "Oh my Goodies" from the Annual catalogue. I must admit to seeing this set in a whole new light after Shelli's presentation...
Shelli also shared some ideas using Wondrous Wreath from the Autumn/Winter catalogue.
I loved this slate and silver heat embossed version. Shelli then gave away this set as her Prize Patrol. I did not win unfortunately :-( lol
Anyway after convention ended we had a couple of hours before we met up to go out that evening but on the way back to the hotel Jules and I found a "Waffle Van" Just like an ice cream van - but much better, someone seriously needs to do this in the UK!!
We went out for dinner that evening and here is one of the very few pictures I took. This one was taken in the Grand Place and it was packed with fire engines and other emergency vehicles ;-)
Sunday came and we met up with a friend of Julies, Anne. Anne lives in Brussels and she kindly showed us around all the sights in the daylight ;-)
Thanks so much Anne for taking the time to share this wonderful city with us x

And before we went Jules treated us to a drink in a cafe right near the hotel, this was the view from my seat! It was so warm there that weekend.
Well, as you can probably guess I loved Brussels. I'd love to take my Hubby with me in the future so I think I best start saving!
Thanks again for visiting with me here and sharing this look back at my time in Brussels. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have...
So, tomorrow I'll be back to normal with crafty projects again. I have so many to share with you right now it's hard to decide where to start!!

Stampin' Up! Convention in Brussels 2104 Part 2

Happy Saturday to you!
Today I'm going to share with you the second part of out trip to Brussels for convention. I thought I might get all the pics I needed to give you a small snapshot of the weekend into two posts but there are just far too many, even after being brutal and showing only a small percentage!! So, here is Friday afternoon and Evening, in a nut shell ;-)
These are the displays that were open during the time we had to either browse this area or do the make and takes, I opted to save my M&T 'till I got home so I haven't completed them... yet. But I'm going to try to, honest!
I love all the little accessories etc on this dresser, everything is handmade form paper, even those cups! And the stocking/bags hanging are just so sweet...
This green pyramid tree was entered into the Design Contest. I have no idea who made it but I think it was my favourite of everything that was on display, I love it!! Not that I would like to be the person choosing tbh! So, closed it looked like this (sorry, not the best picture)
**Edit to say the lovely Jo made this triangle tree, see her blog post HERE**
but lift the top off and you saw this masterpiece!!! Stunning!!
Of course there was plenty of inspiration around every corner...
You should be able to get a closer look if you click on each picture

Sally-Jo and Yvone doing their M&T's
and Julie and Sharon
After lunch we had more talks and sharing on stage plus after most sections there was a Prize patrol- These are two of the winners here!!
We went back to the hotel for a couple of hours to get ready before the Awards Night began and this was the sun setting through our hotel window when we got back, beautiful.
OK, onto awards night. I did walk the stage for 5 years service after much persuasion from Sally-Jo and a few others too ;-) Thanks to Natalie and Kim for letting me tag along with them xx
and here is a quick selfie with Jules and Terri in our finery before we left
Jules walked the stage 3 times but here is a quick picture of her getting a selfie on stage with Shelli :-)
At the after party prop area with Yvone, Sally-Jo, Jules, Sharon, Jane and me
There were cakes and puddings to eat at the after party as well as a fab band, here was my pancake and the table setting
OK, I'm going to leave it there as there were way more pictures that even I thought!! Thanks for sticking with me :-)
Back tomorrow with more,
Stampin' Hugs,
