Sour Cream Anyone ?

Hi ,

Yesterday was a very busy day for me, not least as it is Valentines day on Saturday (really??!). It's not normally much of an event in our house as birthdays are very soon after etc. but I have been very inspired by the fabby cards and gift ideas on lots of peoples blogs, so yesterday morning *yes, yes, i know last minute!!* I decided to have a go at making a little something for my friends and their kids, and as last nite would be the last opportunity I would have to see them all together I whipped these up...with a little inspiration from Liz @ Pink Petticoat

They were surprisingly easy to make, the only thing which I made complicated for myself was to put different toppers on them !! I made 16 all together, 4 for boys in blue with a brown heart stamped with the heart from the FREE SU! 'polka dot punches' (Set of 4 stamps, available when you spend £45 until end of Feb) but I did have to be careful not to make them too girly or slushy...

The Girls ones I did in pinks and turquoise patterned paper *all downloads from Pink Petticoat* I topped some with the stamp die and love embossing folder that came with my cuttlebug. I stamped the others with the hearts from another FREE set I had when I was a SU! hostess called 'A Little Bit of Happiness' . I inked these up with a felt tip so I just got one image, then layered it with my nestie Labels 1 die. I filled the kids ones with a selection of flying saucers, jelly beans, dolly mixtures and alphabet sweets.

Lastly for the big girls I did dark pink paper and layered up
a circle of friendship stamp onto die cut and punched circles, they were all filled with revels (one for me, one for the pot ,he he !!) I used my Happy valentines stamp on all of the pots, it's from the Seasonal Wishes set again.

They all seemed to like them, so I think it was a success, let me know what you think, and I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow!

  2. Ooh, I love your little cartons. I saw that challenge on Pink Petticoat, it's on my list of things to make, they're so cute! Thanks for the info on the stamps. I've had a quick look through the catalogue, but will have to take some time out to look through it properly. I've been contemplating buying the cardstock, I normally use Bazzill. I keep seeing everyone using the SU colours. We are moving soon to West Berkshire and I was thinking about looking into becoming a demonstrator over there. Do you enjoy it? Re: your little poodle, ah, they are so gorgeous, I had one when I was growing up. I can't imagine Lulu being 16. They're like kids, they grow up too fast. Great to see you're in the UK, maybe we can hook up sometime. Are you going to the NEC show in Birmingham, on 15-17 Feb?
