Cake Soiree in Coral and Razzleberry

Hello! there,
I have a Cake Soiree card fo you today :-) We made this card at a blends class recently and used the Coral, Olive and Razzleberry markers (back soon.) I actually really like the colour combo and it was great fun to use some colours that I wouldn't necessarily choose first.
I don't know about you but personally I do find myself using the same colours a lot of the time - which is also why the upcoming colour refresh will be so much fun!
Anyway, let's get back to today's card. This bundle is only available with the 10% discount for another week then the stamps and dies will be in the new catalogue but only separately but that gorgeous paper is leaving us forever on the 31st May..
So, this card is not the exact same as the card my ladies made as I managed to loose the little cake stand die on the morning (or ate the night before) the class!
Luckily I found it the afternoon after class.I had exhausted all possibilities before I finally emptied my craft room bin, piece by piece, and it was sat at the bottom! Also luckily it is a paper and card waste only bin so it wasn't too yucky *phew*
Another thing I like about the blends is when you add Wink of Stella over the top the colour stays in the same place, unlike watercolours. Great when you forget to add WoS and have to go back in. I try to plan WoS earlier in the colouring when I watercolour ;-)
I like the addition of sequins and a little (retired) hessian trim behind, I think it makes it perfect for a country style wedding card although you could also easily add a birthday sentiment to suit...
TIP: I uses a mini stapler to add sequin trim to the card securely. I find this to be much more secure than tape and a whole lot tidier than I can do using glue ;-)
So, what do you think of these colours? Do you enjoy making something a bit different sometimes? Then why not come to a class? I hold monthly classes here in the South of the UK and if you are a long way away then head over to Stampin' Up's main webpage and search for a demo where you are and join in the fun! I' love to hear from you and see what you've been making :-)
Right, that's me for today, I'm off into my craft room to finish about four cards I have on the go at the moment! Have a lovely Friday!

Cute Mermaid with Blue Hair from Magical Day!

Hello there from a warm but now rainy Southampton! Although I must point out that I started writing this blog post when it was hot and sunny - last weekend *-* Time just seems to have run away with me this last week :-)
So, I've another Mermaid from the Magical Day stamp set (which I still call Myths and Magic. Every. Single. Time.) card for you today. I love how cute her hair looks in Pool Party blue...
I used my blends to colour her in, which will hopefully be available again to purchase very soon!
This set is leaving us at the end of May (maybe even sooner though) which I'm so sad about :-(
But the tag she sits on is from the Cake Soiree dies which are staying - albeit not with the 10% bundle saving, so if you have your eye on that set might be worth another look...
and finally the sentiment is from the (also soon to be retiring) Happiest of Days stamp set.
How cute is that pink tinsel ribbon?
OK, that's it from me, I have a lot of fun cards to share with you so I'll try my hardest to get some posts up on here this week. I hope you have a chance to craft this week, too...

Cake Soiree with Watercoloured Stripes.

Hello there,
I have a watercoloured stripes card for you today in Wild Wasabi using the very pretty Cake Soiree stamps and dies. I decided to adhere the die cut area flat and pop up the larger piece. I do like this layout on a card and I haven't done it for a while so it felt good to revisit it...
I had coloured this little cake with my blends and then popped it in my "basket of shame." Which is a rather dramatic name for a basket I have of half finished toppers/stamped images/already coloured images, ready to make into a card. The problem is I have far too many half finished projects, hence the recent re-naming of said basket from the much gentler "projects to-do basket" ;-)
I also made this watercoloured stripes striped background, using Wild Wasabi ink on shimmery white card, a-g-e-s ago and had it ready to use *-* Will I ever learn? ;-)
The stamps and dies are available as a bundle but don't forget, just 'till the end of March, the framelits are available as a Sale-a-Bration item. Please use the special code for this if choosing the dies or any of the "final wave" items as a SaB choice. More info on SaB choices can be found HERE.
Sentiment is from the Cake Soiree set too and I stamped it on Vellum card before layering it onto more wasabi, hiding the glue with silver enamel hearts.
Right, well that's todays card! What do you think? Let me know in the comments :-)
Thanks for looking today!
