New Driver Watercoloured VW Beetle

Hello!
My friends daughter recently passed her driving test and so (obviously) I needed to make a celebration card for her! I kept this set from a couple of years ago for just this reason ;-)
I actually played with some masking fluid that I've had in my stash for at least a few years! It was great fun :-)
Some white twine under the image adds a little pop!
TIP: Use a same colour card layer just 2mm smaller than your card front (10.3cm x 14.6cm) to wrap the twine around so it doesn't show inside.
I was so pleased for her at passing first time! Congrats!
Well, that's me for today! I hope you've enjoyed the card and I'll be back soon with another :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by

New Driver, Paper Pieced, VW Beetle Card!

Hello!
My friend's daughter passed her test a while back and so (obviously) I had to make her a card to celebrate and I just realised I forgot to share it with you! Unfortunately I didn't have any current car stamps but luckily, I keep a few of my very favourite retired stamp sets and so I could make this card using the Beautiful Ride set....
I like how this set works great with paper piecing.
Sentiment is also in the set
Add in a few tiny clouds from the Lift Me Up stamps and dies and a few sequins to finish.
She was pleased with her card :-)
Well, I must get better at sharing things here sooner! I'll work on it ;-)
'Till then, thanks for looking today! Back tomorrow with another card....

Mojo Monday

Good morning to you,
How's your day going? It's raining here again today :( We are supposed to be going for a day out with some camping friends tomorrow so I hope it stops soon or that field is not going to be nice !!
Anyway onto the card, This is one I told you about the other day and wasn't sure about, I made it using this weeks Mojo sketch which I really liked, it was just the card I wasn't sure about! lol!
I have changed the sentiment to a retirement one and added a golf bag, {seems most men who retire from the fire service take up golf! lol!} I am much happier with this now,

This is a mostly SU! card all of which you can buy through me :o) I used some more of the lovely Always Artichoke DSP, some Washington Apple DSP {on offer at the moment :) } both of which I have matted onto co-ordinating card. Linen thread wrapped around the top. Sentiment is a sale-a-bration set and Golf bag charm and frame from stash.

Here is a fancy angle to see the layers.
Well hope you have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave, I really love to read them all :)
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx

Stamp with us Challenge

Hello again,
Just a quick post this time, I have been looking at the new blog Stamp with Us which is going to be fab, it will be doning lots of cool stuff but using mainly (or any!) Stampin' Up! products. Here are the two cards I have made following the first sketch.

For this first one I have used the lovely new Train and the smoke from the stamp set called "Choo Choo" (how sweet is that?!) and wheel "Right on Track" with the lovely Washington Apple papers (did I mention I love these papers?) , Bashful blue striped grosgrain ribbon and the essential oval punches all from the mini catalogue. I also used some Kraft card, Bashful blue card and scalloped circle punch from the main catty. Sentiment says "Congratulations.....on the birth of your beautiful baby!" and was a SAB free stamp set.
For this second card I used the lovely Summer picnic papers with the Cheers to You stamp set and co-ordinating wheel 'cheers'. I coloured the drink with my ink papds and a watercolour brush and all the small bits on the glass and wheel background with ink pads and a blender pen. I also layered the umberella and cherry on the glass. All matted onto Real Red cardstock. Corners on the base were done using the 1/2" circle punch which, when you turn it over, has a handy cross shape to line up your paper ( I will get a photo of it if anyone wants to see?) Scalloped circle punch used for the glass.
Thats all folks !
Not really very quick post at all in the end was it ? Thanks for sticking with it! assuming your not already asleep!! LOL!!
Hugs and have a good weekend, Sarah-Jane xx
