New Driver Watercoloured VW Beetle

Hello!
My friends daughter recently passed her driving test and so (obviously) I needed to make a celebration card for her! I kept this set from a couple of years ago for just this reason ;-)
I actually played with some masking fluid that I've had in my stash for at least a few years! It was great fun :-)
Some white twine under the image adds a little pop!
TIP: Use a same colour card layer just 2mm smaller than your card front (10.3cm x 14.6cm) to wrap the twine around so it doesn't show inside.
I was so pleased for her at passing first time! Congrats!
Well, that's me for today! I hope you've enjoyed the card and I'll be back soon with another :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by

New Driver, Paper Pieced, VW Beetle Card!

Hello!
My friend's daughter passed her test a while back and so (obviously) I had to make her a card to celebrate and I just realised I forgot to share it with you! Unfortunately I didn't have any current car stamps but luckily, I keep a few of my very favourite retired stamp sets and so I could make this card using the Beautiful Ride set....
I like how this set works great with paper piecing.
Sentiment is also in the set
Add in a few tiny clouds from the Lift Me Up stamps and dies and a few sequins to finish.
She was pleased with her card :-)
Well, I must get better at sharing things here sooner! I'll work on it ;-)
'Till then, thanks for looking today! Back tomorrow with another card....

These are a few of my favourite things!

Hello and welcome to today's post and today is a Jems Blog Hop day, yay!
This month we are each choosing our favourite project(s) or product(s) from 2016 and there's tons of fabulous inspiration from my Jems team mates along the way.
Do have a hop around, hopping links are at the end of this post :-)
So, as the title suggests today I had a blast looking back over my projects from this year and picking three that I loved making in 2016, although picking just three was sooooooo hard for me! I have had such fun with so many fabulous stamp set this year! Anyway, I did manage to narrow it down and the first one I chose was my Ombre Effect with Floral Thinlits overlay.
VIDEO TUTORIAL HERE
And I do love this little cactus from Birthday Fiesta, it was such fun giving him a personality with googly eyes and I even made him a sombrero using the dies in the set!
And finally, I really loved this VW Beetle stamp set from way back in January! Sadly this stamp set is retired now but watch this space as I have plans for recreating this card with a new stamp set coming in January ;-)
This VIDEO making Shaker Cards without Dies has been my most popular ever over on my YouTube channel.
So, I do hope you have enjoyed this quick look back over 2016?
Please, HOP FORWARD to Lindas blog for more inspiration or you can
HOP BACK to the ever talented Amanda to see her favourites!

New Driver Cards using Let's Get Away and Beautiful Ride by Stampin' Up!

Good Morning!
It's a lovely sunny, if a little blustery, day here today and I have a full day ahead but first I wanted to share with you a couple of cards I made this week for two lovely ladies who both passed their driving test on Tuesday! I have married the old with the new and used two stamp sets that are retiring {you only have until Tuesday 31.05.16 to order them} teamed with the new in Colours Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum, I'm loving these new colours so much!
So, lets see the cards shall we?
I'll start with the Flirty Flamingo a little closer
I started by drawing  a very faint pencil line across the card and stamping the coloured car from the Project Life stamp set "Let's Get Away". I actually bought this stamp set to make up my PL albums from our holiday to the USA this year, *I will get that done soon!*
Then added the smoky slate ones either side, it's very easy to do as this is a photopolymer stamp set.
Here it is in Sweet Sugarplum..
I then used just part of a sentiment from Beautiful Ride. Yes, I did cut another stamp apart ;-)
I added a few teeny tiny star sequins I had in my stash around the coloured car on each card
We gifted the girls with an updated version of the traditional fluffy dice, this purse from Accessorize to keep a little change in, in their cars...
And one final picture of the cards together,
OK, that's all from me for today, I'm off to make something fun!
'till tomorrow, Stampin' Hugs,
