Simply Stampin' Challenge, A Sketch

Good Morning,
and a big welcome to another week of Simply Stampin' Challenges.
This week is a sketch for you and I think it's a keeper!
As you can see, I decided to flip the sketch to make this Anniversary card and also use a stamp set that has been sat on the shelf for far too long! Artistic Etchings,
Love this colour combo, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede with some Gold Shimmer Paint thrown in there too. I inked the Eiffel Tower and stamped it in Baja ink then stamped it with the Gold Shimmer Paint slightly off for a shadow effect, very pretty IRL
Top Note die used at the bottom with a Level 2 sentiment from the Hostess section of the Mini catalogue, if you "need" this stamp set please don't forget to contact me now as it will be gone forever at the end of September, perhaps before, Book your workshop with me NOW ;-)

I stamped "Amour" with shimmer paint for the background and I covered the little flowers with Crystal Effects too
and inside is stitched and stamped to finish
Well, I really hope you can join us for this weeks challenge,

Simply Stampin' You've got Male

Good Morning!
And Welcome to another Simply Stampin' Challenge! This weeks theme, as it is Father's Day tomorrow, is You've got Male! so we would like very much this week to see your paper crafts for the men in your life.
I was asked to make a card for a friends Dad who likes army/soldiers, I have to admit I was a bit stumped to begin with as I don't really have any stamps which would be suitable... but then it hit me!!
I used some of the lovely crumb cake paper from the neutrals DSP stack for the background with layers of Basic Black and on a base of Always Artichoke card stock,
I made the army style shirt using a piece of retired Old Olive DSP and coloured the ribbon with the Always Artichoke marker pen to make a tie, finishing off the epaulettes with a tiny gold brad :-D
This width of twill tape is retired but we still carry a thinner one, I love how it looks when it is stamped, here using the Something to Celebrate stamp set (again!)
and I decorated the inside too,
I was really pleased with how this card turned out, especially as I really had no idea when I was first asked to make it, don't you love it when it comes together like this??
Well, we really hope you will be able to join in with this weeks challenge, pop over to the challenge blog for tons more inspiration from the rest of the very talented DT.
Thanks again for stopping by today, I love it when you visit me,

Hello!
I know, it's very late today, I really do have things to share with you too! but first of all, do you want to see why I am sooo late posting today???
Yup, I have a major new time waster!!!We have called him Murphy and he is a Yorkie-poo. He is only really tiny but it is hard to see in this pic so I will try  to take some more pictures this weekend but it is really hard to take photos of a black dog! ha ha!
Anyway I do have some crafty goodness to share with you today too. This is the card I have made for my Dad for Father's Day, I know he doesn't really "do" computers so I should be O.K. posting this and hopefully it will get to him in time too but the Spanish posties don't seem too speedy...
I googled origami shirts and loads of tutorials came up, I added some little brads to resemble buttons but once they were on I think it made it look a bit like a P.J. top!
I used the crimper on the bottom of the Old Olive layer to give a bit of interest, sentiment is again from Something to Celebrate the level two hostess set contact me to find out how it could be yours for free...
and a little detail inside too,
Well, I hope you are well today, it is chucking it down here this afternoon again, not great for puppy toilet training but hey ho :-)
Have a great Friday and I will be back tomorrow with a new Simply Stampin' Challenge,
Thanks for stopping by,

June Techniques Class, Part 2

EDIT TO SAY, SORRY I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS DIDN'T PUBLISH THIS MORNING, BUT HERE IT IS A LITTLE LATER THAN PLANNED :-)

Happy Sunday to you!
My eldest boy is coming home today :-D He has been in France for a week on
an adventure holiday with the school, I hope he has had a nice time but it will be good to see him home safe and well.
Anyway, I am here to show you the second card we will be making at this months class, I was asked to do a technique class by some of my regular ladies. Therefore I think this would be a brilliant class for people who are a little unsure of what to do or are beginners at crafting as I will be taking you through step by step, at the same time though it will still be challenging enough for more experienced crafters too ;-)
These buttons are die cut from Poppy Parade card to match the flower Designer Series Paper using the cute Button Embosslit and then covered with Crystal Effects, sentiment id from the Level 2 Hostess set Something to Celebrate,
Bella Toile background stamp used here with clear embossing powder for the panel to mount the flower,
This flower is one I have done a tutorial for HERE, but if you would like to learn hands on then please message me to reserve your place,
Colour combo I have used with Poppy Parade is So Saffron and Baja Breeze, I do love this combo, regular visitors will have seen me use this combo before ;-)
For the first part of Junes class see THIS POST for more details, but here they all are together,
Well, I hope you like the projects we will be making and I look forward to welcoming you to our fun and friendly class :-)
Thanks for stopping by today,

Birthday Boy

Hello there!
Wow! What a lot of people visited yesterday! I am so happy to have you visit me here :-D
I am again a little late posting today as I have had Zoe poorly and up 4 times in the night last night! But she seems to be O.K. at the moment, fingers crossed. Normally it would be fine as I am at home during the day and we could just hang out... but DH is off today and I was really hoping for lunch out, or at the very least a coffee out somewhere! kids huh? perfect timing ;-) he he!
Anyway, onto today's card, I am in love with the New level 1 hostess set from the mini catalogue A Slice of Life, it has such cute images included and I wanted to have a little play with the birthday cake and candles...
in fact as I look at this it is very similar to this weeks Simply Stampin' Challenges sketch this week, hop over and take a look ;-)
you can see here I added Crystal Effects to some of the layers and spots after I had coloured the cake using just about all the blue ink pads I have and a blender pen,
I ruffled the Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon by pulling a thread from the centre and this sentiment is from the Level 2 set Something to Celebrate, also from the new mini catty, I inked it using my markers to get the cute two tone effect. For a great deal when ordering during June and July go HERE
DSP is Certainly Celery from the Subtles paper stack,
And finally I did a little stamping on the inside to finish it off but I think I may add a white layer in here too...
O.K. that's it from me today, thanks as ever for dropping by today, I hope you have enjoyed today's card and I will be back tomorrow with more crafty goodness,

Baby Card for Niki and Ben

Good Morning,
Well, for most of us the kiddies are back to school today...except mine! They are on an inset day! and Neil has also took a day off work so we are going to take them out for a bit, not quite sure where yet but I suspect it may involve breakfast in IKEA ;-)
So, as promised I have the matching card I made for Niki and Ben to celebrate the birth of their beautiful baby Sophie,
I have used Crumb Cake as a base (loving it!) with more Pretty in Pink DSP from the subtles paper stack on page 91, top corner if you have missed them, they are fab! and great value too at just £15.50!!
Sentiment is computer generated and I used the Little Additions set with Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake and Versamark inks to match yesterdays page :-)
A scrummy bow with matching Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, I hand cut out the cot attaching it over the bow and finishing with a strip of Basic Rhinestones to bling it up! You're never too young for bling, eh Sopie?!
a little more decoration on the inside using Little Additions and Something to Celebrate the Level 2 hostess set I also used on the 8x8 page.
and one final picture of both the card and scrapbook page/visitor book together.
I really love how everything matches, one of my favourite things about SU!
Well, that's it for today, thanks as ever for visiting and for your sweet comments too! They really make it all worthwhile!
And for a bit more of Cards and a Cuppa visit my facebook page and "like" for direct links to my blog posts, special info and sneak peeks :-)

Niki's Baby Girl!

Hello!
I have scheduled this post as I am once again at Lyndhurst Community Centre for the (mostly) weekly Craft and Gift Fair, please drop in and say "Hi" if you are in the area :-)
So, back to today's project. My lovely friend and SU! sister Niki had a beautiful baby girl, Sophie, a few weeks ago. When she had the baby, who was several weeks early, the DT on Simply Stampin' Challenge Blog (which Niki set up and runs) wanted to do something special for her and her hubby, Ben.
Organised by Becky we decided to make a double sided 8"x8" scrapbook page each which could be used as a visitor book for everyone to sign when they visit the new arrival!
Anyway, enough of me chatting, I will share the photos with you now...
I used a base of Crumb Cake Card with Pretty in Pink DSP from the subtles stack {on Page 91} and matching Pretty in Pink satin ribbon,
With the tag open to ready write in, the pale pink ink is Pretty in Pink but I also used Crumb Cake, Versamark and even some Regal Rose inks so it showed up a little more on the Crumb Cake card,
Little Additions stamp set and the baby-grow is a (retired) hostess set from last years mini catty, sentiment is Level 2 from this years mini, ((and it could be yours for free!)) Something to Celebrate.
and finally for today a close up of the top images based on the Top Note SU! exclusive die cut. "Congratulations" is from Curly Cute, one of my most used sentiment stamp sets,
Well, I hear she was pleased with the book and I look forward to seeing the rest of the pages, remember to check out the rest of the DT's blogs this week as I am sure they will be showing off their pages very soon!
Thanks for dropping by today and I will be back tomorrow with the card I made to match,

Congratulations Jane!

Good Morning!
Well we had a lovely day yesterday strawberry picking, we picked plenty and ate one or two too ;-)
Anyway, as promised here is the card I made for Jane, the lucky winner of the prize draw I was running, a new one starts on Sunday, more details HERE. This card was inspired by the CPS sketch this week, a great one I think I will use again and again!
Base is Not Quite Navy, a colour I have really started to love of late ;-) with Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze, I "discovered" this combo when I ordered some card this month. These three were together in the delivery and I decided to make my next card using them!
I used Seam Binding ribbon in Baja Breeze (In THIS share) to make another double bow,
I stitched round the Crumb Cake layer attaching the Vellum Card stock sentiment from the Level 2 hostess set Something to Celebrate, you can earn this for FREE, ask me how sarah-janerae@sky.com . I also added some Basic Rhinestones to finish this bit off,
The fireworks stamp is from the often overlooked set New Years Celebration, it also has a Champagne Bottle and Glasses amongst others too ;-)
I also stitched and stamped inside
and a final side view showing off the Square Lattice Embossed layer too,
I really hope Jane likes her prize and this card and also that it arrives before she see's this post! ha ha!
Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with my Simply Stampin' Challenge card, do stop by if you get a chance.

Simply Stampin' Challenges, Week 6, a sketch

Good Morning to you today!
Well, finally blogger is back up and running! and I have sooo much to share with you too, so for today I have to share with you the Simply Stampin' challenge card, and it's my favourite kind of challenge this week, a sketch, so great when you have creative block ;-) I hope you will join us with this weeks challenge.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at the other Dt members cards as they all do a wonderful job of inspiring us all.
Anyway, here is this weeks sketch for you to work with..
So, if you have come here from the challenge blog then you will know that I flipped this sketch to fit the card I made
I used the gorgeous colour combo of Rose Red and Pear Pizzazz, with the very lovely Springtime Vintage DSP too, HERE in this share if you "need" some, along with buttons and seam binding ribbon too.
I die cut the butterflies from the bigz die Beautiful Butterflies, once from Rose Red card and once from Vellum Card stock, I then embossed them both using the Vintage Wallpaper folder and sewed them onto the punched circle
Sentiment is from the Level 2 stamp set from the mini called  Something to Celebrate, with the background on the Pear Pizzazz card using the Baby Blossoms stamps using versamark and Pear ink,
and finally a very blurry picture showing the layers inside, don't quite know what happened to this pic but I had written and sent the card before I realised, oopsie ;-)
Well, I hope you like today's card and we would love it if you could join in with our challenge,
Thanks for stopping by today,
