Artistic Etchings class card

Hello there,
I'm back today with another card from last weeks stamp-a-stack class card.
I have another class with spaces on the 22nd and 24th of June (the 25th is now full!) if you are near Dibden Purlieu and would like to join us please email me for details sarah-janerae@sky.com.
So, this card uses a colour combo of Crumb Cake and Pool Party, I'm so glad SU! are keeping Pool Party in their new colour re-jig! Although I'm going to miss the spritzer tool when that goes :-( I used it here with the Soft Suede marker, just to highlight the stamped area see...
and some of the retiring pool party ruffled ribbon, love that too! There is a lovely ribbon rose tutorial HERE of you already have some...
Right, that's all for today. I'm off to work tonight so I best get cracking!
Thanks for visiting and I'll be back soon with more cardy goodies :-))

Jems Team Swap

Hello there,
I just realised I didn't share the swaps I made for the rest of the Jem's team when we went to convention!
I managed to get hold of some cute tart tins, I would have loved vintage ones but unfortunately they are very hard to come by in large numbers (18, I think it was) Well, I say that but I did leave it 'till a few weeks before I went to decide what I wanted to make! If I had decided sooner I am sure I could have collected enough ;-)
Anyway, I started with just plain old tins and finished with this...
To make this "aged" look on your tin simply sponge the tin with Whisper White Craft ink and then sponge over the top of that with Soft Suede ink. I then left the tins to dry for 2 days (!) Unfortunately they did NOT dry so my hubby has matt varnish in a spray can so he very helpfully coated them with it for me :-)
in the bottom of the tins I used the XL oval to punch a Soft Suede layer of card and the same with Newsprint DSP which I scrunched up and then swiped with an ink pad to highlight, Stamping, Antique brad, crotchet trim, linen thread and scallop edge border punch were all used to pretty up the centre.
and here it is on my fridge, I added a magnet to the back :-)
Well, that's all for today.
I hope you have enjoyed and if you have a go then don't forget to share your creation, I would love to see :-D

Hello Honey, I'm Home!

So, I am back home from the most wonderful time in Paris, We shared swaps, ideas, and most of all FUN!
I shared a room with two lovely ladies, Jules and Jo, what fun! Sadly I didn't get a picture of all three of us together so I am waiting for one of them to post one ;-)
As is tradition I made roomie gifts for both of them but today I will share Jo's with you,
I started with a giant peg, covered with Beau Chateau DSP (see page 97 HERE) I also stamped the crown onto very vanilla from the lovely Artistic Etchings stamp set to decorate the front,
and then I used standard sized pegs covered in the same paper to match but these have the small flower punched with Itty Bitty Punches and then topped with more lovely pearls,
and finally, a set of scissor sharpeners to which I sewed a piece of ribbon and a couple of retired buttons to, so it is easy to find in the bottom of a deep bag ;-)
and here they are all together
Well, I think she liked them :-)
I will share Julies gift with you tomorrow and later in the week I will hopefully get some of the gorgeous gifts I received photographed to share with you too :-)
That's all from me today, Stampin' Hugs,

Simply Stampin' Challenge, A Sketch

Good Morning,
and a big welcome to another week of Simply Stampin' Challenges.
This week is a sketch for you and I think it's a keeper!
As you can see, I decided to flip the sketch to make this Anniversary card and also use a stamp set that has been sat on the shelf for far too long! Artistic Etchings,
Love this colour combo, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede with some Gold Shimmer Paint thrown in there too. I inked the Eiffel Tower and stamped it in Baja ink then stamped it with the Gold Shimmer Paint slightly off for a shadow effect, very pretty IRL
Top Note die used at the bottom with a Level 2 sentiment from the Hostess section of the Mini catalogue, if you "need" this stamp set please don't forget to contact me now as it will be gone forever at the end of September, perhaps before, Book your workshop with me NOW ;-)

I stamped "Amour" with shimmer paint for the background and I covered the little flowers with Crystal Effects too
and inside is stitched and stamped to finish
Well, I really hope you can join us for this weeks challenge,

Happy Birthday Evelyn

Hello,
Today is the lovely Evelyn's birthday, Evelyn is a Jem team member and I was lucky enough to meet her at convention this year. I love how you get a chance to meet lots of different people you wouldn't normally know (Evelyn lives in Scotland) all though the love of Stampin' Up! I know, I know, it sounds dead cheesy but it is great when you get to spend time with Ladies (and Gents) who all enjoy the same thing as you do :-D
Anyway enough of the cheese, back to the card. So, I was thinking about what card to make for Evelyn and I had one of those "duuurr" moments and my mind went blank (not so unusual you might say ;-)) anyway I turned to the trusty Colour Coach and as I didn't want the card to have any sort of Christmassy feel to it. I started out with Melon Mambo and it told me to get out Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive and this was the result...

I think it is my new favourite colour combo!! In fact I made a thank-you card along the same lines of this one which I will share with you later this week, LOVE this Happy B.day stamp, it is on Page 86 in a place you may just pass it by but please don't, It's just gorgeous and the two stamps are just £12,95 ;-)
I inked the stamp using my Marker Pens to get the two colour effect, and it just so happens I am hosting a Marker Club starting in January if you need them too (I would say you definately do! they are just great for multi coloured images) see this post for more details,

The crown and background were stamped using the Artistic Etchings set, Paper is retired Night and Day but you could use Love Letter papers (in my share) or even the Neutrals Paper Patterns Stack on page 91,
and the satin ribbon (also in a share) was finished off with a button which was from the subtles collection tied on with trusty Linen Thread, couldn't live without this now!

Lastly a dodgy picture of the inside, it's really blurry, sorry, but you get the idea right?
Thanks for looking today and I really hope Evelyn likes her card and has a fab day :-D
Happy Sampin'

Helloooo!

Hello lovely blog readers!
Again I find myself apologising for my lack of posts on this little blog, I have however been VERY busy these last few weeks, including building a kitchen and painting with more white paint than I would ever want to see in a very long time! {even though we are only 1/2 way through said painting! boo!}
I did however, make a card a couple of weeks ago with my new pre-order goodies which I will share with you in a mo and I have just placed a very large order for lovely new goodies from the fab new catalogue in preparation for making the 100 or so swaps for convention which is in just 3 short weeks, eek! might have to rope in a few friends and get a little production line running for those...
So, the last card I blogged (scroll down a bit) used the True Friend stamp set and I liked it so much I thought I would make another using the lovely new set Artistic Etchings, I really cannot wait until I get our place sorted so I can get some serious crafting time in, I am missing it lots,

Arty angle for you,

So that's it for today I have updated the side bar with the new catty link and will share some more rubber love with you all very soon, if you have a look through and would like a hard copy of the catty or want to place an order then please email me for a chat or to place your order on sarah-janerae@sky.com
