Beach Happy "Raised Centre" Birthday Card

Hello there,
Today's make is a card I made recently for my hubby and I wanted to remind him that summer was coming... One day.... lol!
I used the Beach Happy stamp set and created this scene but I wanted to do something to give it a little "lift." So out came the old faithful, stitched rectangles again to create this raised centre card...
I started with stamping the images and
TIP1: I found the Stamparatus the easiest way to line up the deckchair and the umbrella images. Start with the stripes on the deckchair ;-)
and TIP 2: I used the rock and roll technique to add a little extra colour to the leaves of the palm tree.
I added some sand to ground the image with my light Crumb Cake blends pen before cutting with a rectangle die. Stick the outer frame down flat to the navy card layer before and adding the raised centre back in with dimensionals.
I love the difference this easy, extra step makes! Great for adding "something" extra without ribbon or frills, and a perfect technique for a masculine card.
A little sentiment with another rectangle die and a couple of enamel shapes finish this card for today :-)
So, I hope you enjoyed this little make? I really enjoyed making the most of my layers for this card ;-)
Just a reminder that this stamp set is another one that is leaving us in less than a month :-( #sadtimes So if you love it please don't miss out.
Also, I know I promised another baby card this week and I will be here to share that with you in the next few days, I promise :-) I have a super busy rest of the bank holiday but I'm determined to squeeze some more blogging in. Somewhere...
'Till then, happy stamping and thanks for stopping by today xx

Bubble Over for Inspire. Create. Challenges

Hello!
And it's time again for another challenge with Inspire. Create. Challenges.
We really hope you are finding these challenges a great push off point for creating something each fortnight, I love a good challenge and often when I have "lost my mojo" I turn to a challenge to just get me started. We'd love if you gave it a go too.
OK, so for week #18 we have a theme challenge...
Now, I'll be 100% honest (as always) and say I was not too sure what to make with this theme. I was thinking about it while I was at work the other evening and when I got home I remembered I had used this set during the day for a commission and it was a complete lightbulb moment and well,  it all just came together really easily after that! I'm super pleased with the retro, beer garden feel of this card!
I used Daffodil Delight and a little of the the new colour Grapefruit Grove (available now in the "Share What You Love" early release) to create this starburst effect...
I added wink of stella to the bottles at the very end of making this card, after sponging and stamping bubbles on them already. But, again being totally honest, I would probably not do this if I made this card again. It looked better before *-* although I don't think it looks so bad that I had to remake it.
Please also note that this Bottles and Bubbles is carrying over into the new catalogue (yay) but not as a bundle. So, if you'd like to take advantage of the extra 10% off (making it just £36 for both the stamps and dies) then please order before the end of May.
I used some of my champagne foil paper to make the bottle tops, both on the bottles and at the bottom of the card.
So, if you'd like some more "sunshine" inspiration then please do head over to the ICC blog HERE and see what creative ideas the other DT members have to share.
We hope you have a go at this challenge and share your makes with us on the blog :-)
Thanks for looking here today!

You Are My Sunshine Jems Blog Hop.

Hello there,
And welcome to another Jems Blog Hop Day!
Todays the theme is "You Are My Sunshine" and I have a fun card to share with you using the new Happy Birthday die *love it* to make a rainbow style card...
To make this rainbow stack I die cut the 'Happy Birthday' several times from a selection of the 'brights' card stock, roughly in rainbow order, and then topped with a thick white card layer.
TIP 1: I used tombow to adhere the layers together. To avoid glue leaking out from the layers, use a quartered sponge to dab the glue over each layer.
TIP 2: Use a silicone mat to add the glue like this so the die cut doesn't stick to your work surface/grid paper.
I kept the rest of the card nice and simple with a Smoky Slate background and some lovely new Bermuda Bay chevron ribbon.
The new iridescent sequins are lovely, small and the perfect accent.
I love this layered look to die cuts and it would work wonderfully in so many other combinations of colours!
Try out different combinations and see what works for you and your project!
