This Weekend Was Fun :-D

Helloooo,
Long time no craft!! But as on Sunday was my lovely Nans 90th birthday I just HAD to get some done ;-) It was really nice to get creative after such a long time not having the time (nor space/mojo mind) to make anything! We are still living in chaos here but seem to be getting there, the 1st half of the kitchen is being plastered today , now that's exciting!
Anyway, back to Nan. My dear Nan lives in Birmingham and if there has been one thing this last few (harrowing) weeks have taught us is that is that life is precious and you really don't know what is just round the corner, so with that in mind we all set off on Sunday morning for a surprise birthday visit, so when we got there I phoned her to wish her a Happy Birthday and then rang the doorbell! to say she was surprised...
Bless her :-D
This was the card I made for her,
I made it using the sketch from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog, Sketch no 66,

Colours used were Sage Shadow and Pixie Pink (both retiring)

Stamp set used is Live Your Dream also retiring, better order now to avoid disappointment, some stuff has already sold out, I will update the list for you tomorrow,
A little piccie of the inside.
I also made little sweet boxes for the table (of which I will show you more of in the next few days as my camera battery was dead, luckily Mum had hers with her but I will have to wait and pinch some copies from her this week) I used some of the lovely "Bride" papers these will also be going at the end of the month or perhaps sooner...

a close up of the spray of flowers again from Live Your Dream, Clear buttons are also retiring.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will leave you today with a piccie of myself and Zack, he had an inset day today so I took him to Paultons park, it was fab as it was really quiet with no queues, all well and good but I just did 1 ride too many and was starting to feel REALLY sick, good job we had to come home and pick up Zoe from school when we did! lol!
So that's my weekend in one post, I hope you enjoyed yours.
I hope to be back soon with some more crafty yumminess,
Another Graduation Card
Hello,
I was asked to make a Graduation card for a girl again this week, the hard part was that it was for the same girl as before! eek! Isn't that the hardest?? making more than 1 card for the same person is just the toughest. Anyway after looking round for some inspiration I found a template to make this Mortar Board card, I have changed it around a bit to suit what stamps I had and used a Rich Razzleberry colour scheme but all the measurements are the same,
Sentiment is from Live Your Dream, I thought it was very appropriate for graduation, glasses are from New Years Celebration which I coloured using a blender pen and Champagne Shimmer paint, I die cut a photo turn to keep the card closed and a simple Congratulations is inside,
and just a side view for you, Isn't the ribbon tassel great? I just unpicked and frayed some spotty Razzleberry Ribbon,
Well that's today's card for you, I have Zack's sports day this afternoon but I will be back tomorrow with Teachers cards and gifts before I go to Zoe's sports day,
Thanks for stopping by,
Stampin' Hugs,
A Few More Lavender Sachets
Good Morning to you today,
I hope it's sunny where you are too, the radio this morning said it was going to be the hottest day of the year so far! whoop whoop!! Good job really as I have got to do some gardening today.
Do you remember the lavender sachets I made a while ago? for Mothers Day? Well, one of my friends from Zack's school bought a couple and liked them. So much so that she asked me to make her 5 more. Now I know it's a while ago and she didn't mind waiting but I finally got a chance to make them this weekend. I made 9 in total but totally forgot take photos before I packed and sent them! Doh! So here are the last 4 I made
All packed up and ready to go,
and here are some little close ups, Stamp sets used (clockwise) are Tiny Tags (perfect for this) Live your Dream, Circle Circus (love the colours for this one ;-)) and Circle Circus with Tiny Tags.
Well, that's it, I really must get outside,
Have a great day and do pop back tomorrow as I have Fathers Day card we will be making at this months class to share with you,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx
Good Morning to you,
I have scheduled this post as today Neil has taken the day off work and we are going tile hunting, lucky us! ;-) So how was your weekend? mine was busy, busy as usual these days. Saturday I had another fantastic class where we made a set of 5 cards, I showed you 4 last week but wanted to keep one as a surprise, I will share that with you later in the week. Then Sunday was Zoe's 9th birthday. My little girl, she was so excited as she didn't know what she wanted so everything was a surprise, she literally shook as she opened her pressies, bless her. She also had a crafty birthday party but more of that next week.
So onto today's card, another one for Lucy but this one is from her son Sam so I didn't want it to make it too girly, yet girly enough for his mum.
Colours are Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise with a hint of Basic Black, inspired by a swap I received from Reading training made by the lovely Marlene, thanks hun x
Arty shot, little background flower is from Live Your Dream, main image is from a Sale-a-Bration set Happy Moments, no longer available unfortunately. I also stamped the thin Twill Tape with the sentiment before adding a button.
Thanks for looking, and don't forget this months promotion finishes Wednesday at 10pm plus my 2 specials of £2 post and a cool prize draw too, (see top post)
Hugs, Sarah-Jane xx
Get Well Soon
Hello all,
How's things with you today? It's a fantastic day here, as you will see from the photos in a mo, the sun is shining and doesn't it just make everything seem so much better when the sun comes out? :0) shame it comes out once the kids go back to school!!
Anyway, I have made a quick card this morning. It is for the lovely Eunice who comes to my monthly card classes, she has been feeling a bit under the weather the last few weeks.
I have used the very pretty "Live your Dream" stamp set today, inked in SO Saffron and Always Artichoke inks to match the Tea Party DSP. I used a glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the flower and butterflies.
I have also used matching ribbon topped with a fab felt flower and earth elements button, tied with linen thread. Sentiment is from "Sincere Salutations"
Here's the arty farty angle!
Right off to the P.O. now and then to pop Eunices card through to her,
Hope you have a great day too,
Julies Bird House
Morning :0)
As I thought, yesterday turned out to be a busy day for us, but it was fantastic fun. Zoe and I had a lovely day together doing a little shopping in the morning, school fete and then to her friends house in the afternoon 'till late. Neil took the boys to a war games show at Bovington so they had a fab "boys" day together too :0) so all is happy in the Rae's house!!
As promised, here is the little bird house I sent Julie for her birthday on Friday. I saw them on Emmas blog and followed the link on there to the very talented and generous Nicole Heady's blog for this free template. I love this little house and will be making more, one definitely later this week for another friend who's birthday it is on Thursday.
I used Pretty in Pink card stock for the base and Close to Cocoa for the roof. I stamped with the little flower from "Live your Dream" in versamark and the set of three flowers, from the same set, just inking one of them with the versamark before stamping on the roof.
Hole and scallop made with SU punches. Velum from stash. Butterfly also from the same stamp set. Stripey grosgrain ribbon through the top. Here it is all packaged and ready to go..
Well, thats all today, will be back tomorrow to show you the card I promised you last week, the one I made for my uncle.
Have a lovely Sunday,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx
