Two Cards Today! A Birthday Card and a Birth-Day Card!

Hello!
I hope you are enjoying the bank holiday weekend? We have been to B&Q already this weekend to get the supplies to start painting the new extension this week :-/ but we are yet to start. Today, we will start today...
But before that, cards! As you probably know the exciting new catalogue is going to be with us soon (4th June) but the downside of that is we will be losing lots of the lovely current stamps and dies. So I figured as I have so much to share still I would do a double card post today ;-)
The first card today is one I made this card for my eldest boys birthday a while ago...
I started by randomly watercolouring a piece of watercolour card before drying. Die cut with the Celebrate You thinlints and then stack it onto three more die cuts made from thick white card.
TIP: Use a coordinating colour card to layer up your sentiment (see next card) for a different effect.
Pop up the centre section using the rectangle framelits (a similar technique to THIS card) and finish with stars, a heat embossed sentiment, some enamel shapes and a little twine :-)
And for the second card today I have a new baby card or a different kind of  Birth-Day card ;-)
I made this for my lovely friend who had a beautiful baby boy recently and I just couldn't resist making an Eclipse card using the Large Letters framelits and the First Steps stamp set to make this...
The "Welcome Baby" sentiment is layered as before but this time using the Well Written dies - which are not retiring, Yay!
TIP: Use foam strips to pop up the letter die cuts and make this card super speedily!
I do love an eclipse card, it just makes any card special. Sadly this stamp set and letter dies will be leaving us though, this catalogue change :-( I'm seriously going to miss these both of these items, although I'm definitely keeping both of mine.
If you love these or other items too, then please be sure to order your favourites before the 3rd June...
OK, so that's my two for one deal for today!
I hope you've enjoyed today's makes and I'll be back soon with even more :-D
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoy your bank holiday weekend, whatever you're up to :-)

Dandelion Wishes Eclipse Card

Hello,
My husband recently asked me to a make a special card for a lovely lady he works with for a big birthday. He originally asked for her number on the card, which I swiftly talked him out of, convincing him that not everyone wants the world to know what their new number was going to be! But I could still make her something nice, honest ;-)
OK, so I started with the other, smaller image stamp from Dandelion Wishes but quickly realised I needed more density of  images for this style of card so I stamped the tripe flower image three times to come up with this...
I then die cut her name using Large Letter framelits.
Before adhering the outline to a navy card layer then adding back in the letters using foam strips.
Wrap with gold thread (retired) and layer onto a white card base.
The lady this was for messaged my hubby and said it was "the most beautiful card she'd ever had."
*blush*
I do love an eclipse card, what do you think?

Eclipse Card for a 21st Birthday using Mixed Drinks

Hello there!
Today I want to share with you the card I made when my eldest turned 21 recently :-) How old do feel??? Lol! To tell you a (not very funny) story he kindly pointed out how much younger Emma Bunton looked on TV the other day considering she is the same age as me! Erm, yes, thanks for that, son... Time to trade that kid in I think... ;-)
Anyway, I wanted to do an Eclipse card and have his name and age on it so I made this card using the Mixed Drinks stamps....
I started by stamping the beer and bubbles and I coloured in the froth too before die cutting his name and age.
I layered the white card, flat onto navy card before adding the popped up sections with foam strips, so quick!
I needed a small-ish gift box so I used one of the silver mini gable boxes and decorated it to match the card.
  Adding Gold Faceted Gems...
...as well as some cute, corduroy ribbon to secure the box closed (and make it take a bit longer to open ;-))
And that's it, my biggest baby is 21! And what a lovely young man he has grown to be (apart from when he's insulting me, of course, lol!) Seriously though, we are super proud of him :-)
Well, that's it from me for today, I'll be back tomorrow with another card for a new challenge with Inspire. Create. I do hope you'll join me here?
Thanks for looking today,
