Stretching the "Merry Christmas To All" Bundle

Hello there,
I'm finally back with another card from my "Stretch your Christmas Supplies further" class last week :-)
*EDIT: TO SEE ALL THE OTHER CARDS IN THIS SERIES, GO HERE*
For these cards I used the Merry Christmas to all dies for both cards and the matching stamps with snowflakes from Beautiful Blizzard for one and stretched my supplies by adding a birthday sentiment and  a mini butterfly for the other, let's see...
So here's the birthday version a little closer. I inadvertently used a retired set for the "birthday" sentiment but you could use any! See the Sunshine Sayings set which goes with the Sunshine Wishes dies used for this butterfly...
I embossed the white card layer on both cards using the Tin Tile folder, cutting t large enough so it peeks out from behind the edges of the blue card layer and also the inside, die cut circle...
TIP: I used the stitched edge framelits to cut out the circle so I can use it on another project but you can also used the regular circle frameilts too!
I created the ombre "Happy" by watercolouring on watercolour paper with Navy and Balmy Blue ink using my aqua painter. Leave to dry or speed it up with a heat tool before die cutting. I like to layer up by die cutting three more "happy's" from white card and topping them with the watercoloured layer.
And here's a closer look at the festive version. I used the Blizzard thinlits die for the snowflakes...
And as I didn't use twine on this version I adhered the top layer flat to the tin tile embossed layer, making it easier to post which is always a good thing at Christmas, right?
So, that's todays pair of cards! I hope I have inspired you a little and maybe to keep your Christmas stash somewhere closer to hand this year? Which sets will you use to make more than Christmas cards?
Back soon with my third and final make from this class.

Bokeh Technique Card with Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine

Hello!
Life has been crazy busy here with work and getting ready to visit my Dad this week that I'm afraid the old blog has been neglected a little! I'm taking my laptop away with me though so I'll be back up and running again now ;-)
First of all I must mention that the Autumn/Winter catalogue is here in my hot little hands and it goes live on the 4th September. If you don't have a demonstrator and would like one please drop me a line ((and I'll post out as soon as I get home ;-) ))
OK, let's get our craft on!
This month in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine I have a set of cards showcasing the Bokeh technique. See them (on the front cover, eep) in the bottom corner? This is this months edition and is out in shops now.
I really enjoyed this technique (full step by step instructions in the mag) and so I made an extra card to share here when the magazine went live...
I used a colour combo of Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight and Black for this card
Teamed with Picture Perfect Birthday stamps and the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die which I layered for some extra impact!
TIP: Add a vellum circle under a die cut so it doesn't get lost on a busy background.
So, what do you think? Have you had a go at the technique yet? It's great fun and much easier than it looks to do. More examples in the magazine too ;-)
Thanks for looking today, I'll be back on Friday with a *Christmas* make!! I hope you're ready?!?!? I'm already singing *holidays are coming*

Pink Ombre Delightfully Detailed Paper

Hello there,
I have another card for you today using the Delightfully Detailed laser-cut paper.  For this card I used a simple watercolour wash with ink pads to create a pink ombre effect starting with Melon Mambo then Flirty Flamingo then finishing with Powder Pink at the top...
Once it was dry (I used my heat tool to help speed this up) I added it to a same sized white card background before layering onto black card and wrapping with Powder Pink shimmer ribbon.
I finished the card with a sentiment (from Picture Perfect Birthday) heat embossed in white and layered it onto a Smoky Slate base.
I've really enjoyed using this paper and still have a couple more cards to share so I do hope your loving it too ;-)
Thanks so much for looking today, back soon with another make!
