Bokeh Technique Card with Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine

Hello!
Life has been crazy busy here with work and getting ready to visit my Dad this week that I'm afraid the old blog has been neglected a little! I'm taking my laptop away with me though so I'll be back up and running again now ;-)
First of all I must mention that the Autumn/Winter catalogue is here in my hot little hands and it goes live on the 4th September. If you don't have a demonstrator and would like one please drop me a line ((and I'll post out as soon as I get home ;-) ))
OK, let's get our craft on!
This month in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine I have a set of cards showcasing the Bokeh technique. See them (on the front cover, eep) in the bottom corner? This is this months edition and is out in shops now.
I really enjoyed this technique (full step by step instructions in the mag) and so I made an extra card to share here when the magazine went live...
I used a colour combo of Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight and Black for this card
Teamed with Picture Perfect Birthday stamps and the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die which I layered for some extra impact!
TIP: Add a vellum circle under a die cut so it doesn't get lost on a busy background.
So, what do you think? Have you had a go at the technique yet? It's great fun and much easier than it looks to do. More examples in the magazine too ;-)
Thanks for looking today, I'll be back on Friday with a *Christmas* make!! I hope you're ready?!?!? I'm already singing *holidays are coming*

Make Special Cards Magazine fun!

Hello there,
I have a little set of four really quick and easy cards to share with you today. I was recently sent a copy of this magazine. It's published by Immediate Media who I design for, usually for their Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine though. I was so excited to have a play with this kit :-) Included in the bag are all these goodies including 30 papers, 12 scallop edged cards with envies and 15 stamps plus more. But, the best part is there are over 50 designs for cards and tags so if you're stuck and don't know what to make it's all there for you to CASE!
All ready to go and make a ton of cards, see...
And here is what I made in about an hour! Card one...
Just add bakers twine ;-)
Card two, with a wrap of ribbon. Very Cath Kidston this paper don't you think?
The third design is a CAS card
and finally and a garden-y one, I think my Mum would like this one ;-)
Well I hope you've enjoyed these cards and if you grab a copy of this mag please remember to share with me your makes!
Thanks for looking today

Bow Punch Trio teamed with Sale-a-Bration FREE stamps: Simply Wonderful

Hi there!
It's not all that nice here today in the South of the UK but that's OK because now I can stay in my craft room for the rest of the day ;-) I have so many ideas floating around my head at the moment with all the new products available and simply not enough hours in the day to make them!!
Lets see today's card first though. This card is a trio of stacked bows using the very pretty DSP stack "Stacked With Love" it's definitely not just for Valentines! See what I made...
These three bows are all the same sheet of paper, just reversed. And just so you know you can get 4 bows from each sheet from a stack if you punch them out close to each other :-)
This lovely sentiment is from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set "Simply Wonderful" and is available in Wood or Clear mount, stamped here in Crisp Cantaloupe. Yours to choose with a £45 spend.
And a side view to finish. Plenty of depth but no ribbon again today!! I might have to remedy that on todays cards ;-)
OK, that's all from me for today. I hope you liked today's card?
Back tomorrow with more!

Spiral Flower Die for an 80th Birthday and Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine news

Hello,
Well, I am finally starting to feel a bit better, still very tired but definitely better ;-) I hope that's me done for this winter??? lol!
So, a few weeks ago I was asked to make a card for a friends Mum's 80th birthday and as I had been playing with the spiral flower die that day --- which reminds me!! I haven't shared my "roomie gift" from Convention with you yet!! Doh! OK. Soon, I promise!! --- I went with it to make this card...
I added Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Smoky Slate rolled flowers to a doily
This is a v-e-r-y deep card!
TOP TIP: To make the centre flower the right height I added the flowers around the outer edge first to the doily with a hot glue gun (I also used it to glue the actual flowers together) then added a small bed of scrunched up tissue paper glued down then topped it with a final flower
A simple computer generated sentiment
And a double layered insert balances out the weight on the front
Before I go have you seen this months edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine?? There's so many fantastic projects in there this month (as usual!). I so want to have a  go at making that paper tree on the front cover!
and I'm in there with 4 quick makes for Christmas ;-)
Hope you get chance to grab a copy! and that you liked today's project too :-)
Thanks for stopping by today, back tomorrow with more,
