Cupcake Crazy

Good afternoon,
Gee, it's wet and grotty here today, luckily for me I have been indoors today :0) holding my class again with the lovely Mandi as she couldn't make it Saturday.
Today I have a card with the yummy Crazy for Cupcakes set, I haven't used this one for a-ges!
This was the last card I made for Lucy, this one was for her daughter, Beth to give to her, papers are from the Sunny Day Scappin' Kit,

Arty angle shows the cakes which were water coloured with blender pens then topped with yummy shimmer paint, you will be seeing a LOT of this in the next few months ;-)

and finally the inside, sentiment from Sealed with a Kiss and envelope decorated with Cupcake small wheel.

O.K. must dash, it's school pick up time already! eek!
Bye for now, Hugs Sarah-Jane xxx

Good Morning to you,
I have scheduled this post as today Neil has taken the day off work and we are going tile hunting, lucky us! ;-) So how was your weekend? mine was busy, busy as usual these days. Saturday I had another fantastic class where we made a set of 5 cards, I showed you 4 last week but wanted to keep one as a surprise, I will share that with you later in the week. Then Sunday was Zoe's 9th birthday. My little girl, she was so excited as she didn't know what she wanted so everything was a surprise, she literally shook as she opened her pressies, bless her. She also had a crafty birthday party but more of that next week.
So onto today's card, another one for Lucy but this one is from her son Sam so I didn't want it to make it too girly, yet girly enough for his mum.
Colours are Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise with a hint of Basic Black, inspired by a swap I received from Reading training made by the lovely Marlene, thanks hun x
Arty shot, little background flower is from Live Your Dream, main image is from a Sale-a-Bration set Happy Moments, no longer available unfortunately. I also stamped the thin Twill Tape with the sentiment before adding a button.
Thanks for looking, and don't forget this months promotion finishes Wednesday at 10pm plus my 2 specials of £2 post and a cool prize draw too, (see top post)
Hugs, Sarah-Jane xx

Lucy Birthday, part 2 and a special offer 'till Wed only

Good morning,
Yay, it's the weekend!! whoop whoop!
Yesterday I showed you the card I made for Lucy, now that was great fun to make but about a week ago her lovely hubby got in touch and asked me to make her a birthday card... but not just from him, but 1 each from their 2 kids too! Well, obviously I was very touched to be asked, but way! 4 cards for 1 lady... not easy! So, this is the one I made for Pete to give to her :-)
I went with a vintagey feel to this one using the Love You Much stamp set (p 26),
I masked the bids and stamped the heart in the background, then water coloured in some details with a blender pen in Sage Shadow to match the card,
These little hearts were stamped from Love You Much and punched with the Heart to Heart punch then joined with linen thread, sentiment is from Cheer and Wishes (p 62)
This little detail is on the inside and comes from Sealed with a Kiss (p 26) a cute little set which I use quite a bit for anniversary cards,
and finally the arty angle,
I will be back Monday with another card for Lucy ;-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally for today my special offer for you but only 'till Wednesday, I am offering you post and packing for just £2, no matter how much you order (usually 5% or £3.95, whichever is greater) direct to your door, that is in conjunction with the SU! special offer for this month which is 20% off punches when purchased with selected stamp sets plus my prize draw to win a level 1 stamp set (see top post)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All that's left to say is wishing you all a fab weekend and
thanks for stopping by,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx

Happy Birthday to Lucy Locket :0)

Good Afternoon to you today,
Did you get that thunder storm just a while ago?? wowzers, loud and flashy woo hoo! he he!
Anyways, what I am here to say is Happy Birthday to the lovely Lucy, hugs babe xx
I decided to make her a very special card, this design is one I saw at training in Reading demonstrated by the very talented and generous Jenny, (she has a great tutorial on her blog, click on her name to go to her blog) thanks for sharing Jenny, I hope I have done it some justice ;0)

I have used the fab Vintage Vogue stamp set with choc chip and so saffron inks,

Choc chip ink, ribbon and card, dazzling diamonds glitter applied using the glue pen, and some yummy Latte buttons,
card base is made using So Saffron Carousel notes (page 80)
The little mugs are from the level 3 hostess set Queue Up,
View from the top showing sentiments from Oval All (p 58), One of a Kind (p 56) and Sincere Salutations (p 62), all punched with the oval and scallop oval punches (p 88),
Now when I folded this card I quickly realised it wouldn't fit in an envelope so I made an easy pizza box, here is the top, {sorry about the dodgy pictures for these last two, it was getting dark!} If you would like the measurements, please email me.
and lastly a dimensional shot to show the layering of the 'F'

Phew, another picture heavy post, I do hope you like, let me know
Thanks for dropping by,
Hugs S.J. xxx

What a weekend!

Hello folks,
***WARNING! veeery long post, grab a cuppa!***
Well, I have had so much fun this last weekend! Saturday I went up to Reading to meet up with my fellow demos *waves* we had a great day catching up, learning tips and sharing, it was, as always hugely inspiring. If you would like to be a part of this wonderful family then please get in touch for a chat, email in side bar.
So, the first thing we all do when we meet up is swap! I love it, fresh new ideas with stamps you have and great samples with stamps you have on your wish list ;0)
For my swaps I used lots of products from the fabby new mini catalogue, these products will be available from 1st April {{can't wait}}

Stamp used here is from a set called Fox and Friends-so sweet, I inked the stamp with some of the great new shimmer paint **YAY** and I punched him out with the full heart punch --only available 'till the end of MARCH otherwise you'll have to wait 'till October! {and don't forget my special prize draw for March too! see top post} and finally some yummy new DSP called Sweet Pea- something in that for everyone, other items used were word window punch, 1+3/4" circle punch, paper piercer & mat and a Basic Phrases stamp for the sentiment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, the next thing I am about to show you was my entry for something called Demos Choice, it is a competition where we as demos make something, it can be cards, 3d items etc. and all the demos vote for their favourite. Sadly I didn't win...
I decided to make a set of 4 cards using my new stamp set (which I earned for free as a demo, ask me how) called True Friend, I wanted to used the Soft Subtles colour family and make them all slightly different, so I inked the stamp using my markers and changed each of the backgrounds too :0) There is another sneak peek in these too, can you spot it???
and here they are as a set,
[the sneak is the great new dot dot background stamp]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally from me today here are a few piccies of the lovely ladies who I spent most of the day with as we were sat together on the same table ***Hello Ladies xxx***

Phew, well thanks for staying with me, I hope you liked my peek into the wonderful world of being a demo?
Please do come back tomorrow for a special card for a special lady,
Bye for now, hugs Sarah-Jane xxx

40 today!

Happy birthday Rich!
Yes, it's our good friend Rich's birthday today and you know what that means don't you?? Yup, a dreaded card for a man! lol! Unusually the idea for this one came to me straight away.
I knew I wanted to use the champagne bottle from New Years Celebration as what is better for a special birthday that champers? ;0)
Colours used were So Saffron (retired paper) Night of navy background card which was stamped with matching ink using the fireworks stamp from the set and Old Olive DSP, I have also given you a special sneak peek, can you see what it is?? yes, on the bottle I have coloured the labels using fab new White Shimmer Paint, oooo, I love it already!
Star Punch (which is on offer this month, see top post) used on the front and in photo below, inside, Congrats stamp is from Say it with Scallops, Old Olive ribbon stapled to DS paper, small circle punch outs covered in Crystal Effects to make faux brads.
Now for his birthday he is getting an I-Pod (amongst lots of {40} other things) so we got him an I-Tunes voucher,
Here is the little pocket/card I made to hold it,
and here it is open.
Now, I have seen a few of this shape gift card holders around but I made this one up today as I was going, if you would like the measurements then please email me.
That's it for today, I am going to Reading tomorrow for a Stampin' Up! training day, I am so looking forward to it, not least to meet up with all the other SU! demos but also as these events are always so inspiring, then Sunday I am off to the Ideal Home Exhibition, it's gonna be a fun weekend!
I'll be back Monday with all the goss, make sure you pop by,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx
