Revisiting Age Awareness from Stampin' Up's 2016 Retirement List

Hello,
Today I thought I'd share a few cards I have previously made using a stamp set that is now sadly retiring - Age Awareness. This is a great set for mens cards and it's only £14.00 too ;-)
Do you remember this pair of cards? Here I teamed Age Awareness with Be The Star, which is on the retiring list as well :-(
Ah, I do love a little emboss resist. The sentiment of from Age Awareness but the leaves are from Kinda Eclectic, which is staying :-)
Original Post for this card is here
And one more design for today. This card uses Age Awareness for the tag part but the base uses Dotty Angles which is yet another fab set that is retiring!
You can see the original post here.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed this little trip down memory lane. I'll try and do a few more posts like this (with different sets) over the coming weeks before they all retire!
Please remember to order your favourites before they sell out and are gone forever!

Kinds Eclectic and Age Awareness by Stampin' Up! with lots of Heat Embossing!

Hi there,
We are off out in a bit to have pudding for tea tonight, in town! I'll share some of the delights on my Instagram and Facebook pages later if you fancy a treat ;-)
So, before I go I wanted to share a card we made at class using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and some heat embossing..
We stamped the leaves with versamark ink, heat embossed in white and then, using a sponge dauber, highlighted the leaves with crumb cake ink
this sentiment is from Age Awareness
These cute leaves are in the clearance rack right now for the bargain price of just £1.79 for 36 pieces! Here we dipped it in the Early Espresso ink pad and topped it with clear embossing powder so it dried quickly before tieing on the card with bakers twine.
TOP TIP: If the little leaves don't stay where you want them add a glue dot or a dab of crystal effects to secure in place ;-)
and one last picture today :-)
Well, I hope you liked today's card and I'll be back tomorrow with more. Don't forget to stop by and see our deserts later too ;-)

Be the Star and Age Awareness stamps by Stampin Up! for an Boys/Mans 18th Birthday ;-)

Hello!
And happy Saturday to you! Today's card is actually two today as I was playing around with this idea and I was unsure of which layout was going to work to start with. In the end I liked both so I completed the second card to have on hand, ready to be used ;-) But, please be warned, there are quite a lot of pics because of this!
I went with a Wild Wasabi and Night of Navy colour combo for these cards adding a touch of Baked Brown Sugar and either natural chevron ribbon or a burlap banner with gold. Here's a look at these cards together first...
Now, the first card today is the one I made into the 18th birthday card (obviously, Sarah-Jane!) lol
I used Gold embossing powder for this sentiment which is from the Age Awareness set. It's a great set as the Happy Birthday sentiment is a good size to become a focal point on a card.
I die cut the numbers using a retired SU! Bigz die but you could use Perfect Print numbers dies for a similar look. I added a couple of loops of linen thread behind too
TOP TIP: Adhere the numbers using crystal effects and hold in place using pegs/clips until it dries.
A better picture of the gold embossing, it was lovely and shiny IRL
Now, card two! It's very similar really.
Just a slightly different layout and a navy sentiment...
I added a couple of ribbon loops to the side with staples
Love gold glimmer paper stars for texture without bulk
and lastly for today inside both the cards with a touch of decoration to finish :-)
Well, thanks as ever for stopping by today.
I'll be back tomorrow with a CAS Christmas Card for you!
