Beach Happy "Raised Centre" Birthday Card

Hello there,
Today's make is a card I made recently for my hubby and I wanted to remind him that summer was coming... One day.... lol!
I used the Beach Happy stamp set and created this scene but I wanted to do something to give it a little "lift." So out came the old faithful, stitched rectangles again to create this raised centre card...
I started with stamping the images and
TIP1: I found the Stamparatus the easiest way to line up the deckchair and the umbrella images. Start with the stripes on the deckchair ;-)
and TIP 2: I used the rock and roll technique to add a little extra colour to the leaves of the palm tree.
I added some sand to ground the image with my light Crumb Cake blends pen before cutting with a rectangle die. Stick the outer frame down flat to the navy card layer before and adding the raised centre back in with dimensionals.
I love the difference this easy, extra step makes! Great for adding "something" extra without ribbon or frills, and a perfect technique for a masculine card.
A little sentiment with another rectangle die and a couple of enamel shapes finish this card for today :-)
So, I hope you enjoyed this little make? I really enjoyed making the most of my layers for this card ;-)
Just a reminder that this stamp set is another one that is leaving us in less than a month :-( #sadtimes So if you love it please don't miss out.
Also, I know I promised another baby card this week and I will be here to share that with you in the next few days, I promise :-) I have a super busy rest of the bank holiday but I'm determined to squeeze some more blogging in. Somewhere...
'Till then, happy stamping and thanks for stopping by today xx

BBQ King! Using Apron Of Love

Hello there,
I have a card that I made for my class a few weeks ago using the Apron Of Love stamps and dies to make a great card for a BBQ King! I added a Father's Day sentimetn to this but of course it would easily changed out to make a birthday card...
I used the Twinkle, Twinkle papers in the background, it's not just for babies, you know! ;-)
Adding the utensils to the bottom by the sentiment as well as tucked into the pocket of the apron.
I ouldn't find a way for the oven glove to work on the front of the card but I managed to sneak it into the inside.
I think this card is just perfect for any summer birthday especially considering all the wonderful weather we are having here in the UK right now!
Happy BBQ-ing!

A Bottles and Bubbles Celebration!

Hello there,
Todays make is a card that we made in class and I thought would work well for the guys in your life! I love this set for making beer bottles although (obvs) it works brilliantly for pop or squash bottles too. A truly versatile little set...
I used the Wood Textures DSP (on offer this month) adding a few stamped bubbles to it.
I layered the "celebrate" sentiment three times to make it stand out a bit more. I really like this effect and have been doing it quite a bit lately...
Add in a touch of linen thread before layering the bottles over and that's it!
The ladies at class all enjoyed making this card and I hope you have enjoyed it here today too!

Truly Tailored for Inspire. Create challenges #15

Hello there,
Today at Inspire. Create challenges the theme is "Masculine" which can often be a tricky make, so I hope you find plenty of inspiration from the ICC Design Team :-D
So, I recently purchased the Truly Tailored bundle and wanted to try something a bit different with it when I thought of bow ties! See...
To make the bow ties I simply punched some of the True Gentleman DSP out using the Tailored Tag punch and cut the shape in half, securing the smaller sides back together and covering the join with a strip of matching paper down the centre. Tah Dah!
Add in a sentiment and that's it for this CaS card and of course these dickie bows would also work well with my Tuxedo Card, Tutorial HERE
The only thing I would consider doing differently is to add the paper bow ties to a matching coloured card layer for extra stability, but it certainly isn't essential.
So, please do head over to the Inspire. Create blog and see what the rest of the DT have created as I'm sure they will be fab-u-lous! And don't forget to post your "Masculine makes" over there too!
Thanks so much for stopping by today :-)
