More Jems Birthdays :-)

Boy, July is one busy birthday month with those Jems! I have a birthday card for Lisa to show you today, it was her birthday yesterday so I should be fine to share this with you today.
I decided to use the super cute Level 2 stamp set (FREE that means) 'Cute by the Inch'
I love the cupcake image in this set which I inked here using the markers to get the two colours and then punched out using the Tag Punches,
and look at this scrummy ribbon rose, I made a very similar one for techniques class last month but the lovely Jo D came up with an even simpler way of making them, her tutorial is HERE,
I put the bottom strip through the crimper and spritzed it with shimmer spray before adhering,
and a little decoration inside with the Eyelet Border punch and the crimper again,
O.K. that's today's post for you. It's the first full day of the holidays today so I am hoping the kids want a PJ day as I have still got a list as long as your arm ;-)
Before I go please don't forget the July special finishes soon.
 And also please email me now to reserve your place at my August class, more pictures and details HERE.
I look forward to hearing from you soon :-D
Thanks for visiting me today,

Decembers Packaging Class

Hello,
Just call me Nurse S.J.! I have been here looking after two sick children this last few days, first off Zoe started on Friday with a temperature and feeling ill then by Sunday Zack had it too. Zoe has finally gone back to school this morning with just a tickly cough but as it is her Christingle service today and also the school disco tonight so she was desperate to go back *smile*
I did manage to do the packaging class on Monday, unfortunately it was very reduced in numbers due to lots of illnesses, it seems it is everywhere at the moment, but we did have a lovely time with festering music and warm mince pies to lift our spirits!
We made this little gift card holder which Jules shared with us at convention, I also made a very similar one HERE for a friends birthday, I have prettied this one up a little ;-)

Card is Baja Breeze, lovely white organza ribbon (p 96) and the main image is from the set Gifted which was used on all the projects in this months class and is also in the current SU! promotion, I inked it using the markers, share starting soon, the little images are from the set Every Little Bit which I have used loads.

I used the eyelet border punch on the front and inside flaps, the 'to' and 'from' is from Winters Post, and Word Window and Tab Punch were used to do the slots for the gift card to sit in,
and here is the arty angle, the oval in the middle of this image fits the XL Oval Punch perfectly so we punched and layered it. We also sprayed everything we made with shimmer spray (shimmer paint mixed with alcohol) as it is Christmas you gotta have plenty of sparkle!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We also made mini milk cartons (filled with Celebrations, yum) I was inspired by a swap from Jo D at convention, {hers is a cute birdhouse}, I just adapted the Milk Carton Tutorial I made to fit A5 card instead of A4, change measurements to score at 5, 10, 15 and 20cm then flip to score at 3, 10 and 13.5cm, these worked for me, the only other change I made to the original design was to clip the top before you seal the bottom of your carton so you can get your fingers in to push out the corners (iykwim?) so your folds are crisp as where it is small it is not so easy to manipulate,
back to this carton, same 2 sets used as before and also the scallop trim border punch to decorate the bottom edge in Cherry Cobbler card, doesn't ti work well with either modern or traditional colour schemes, great colour ;-) finished with clips and some 3mm taffeta ribbon.
and finally a view of the layers on the front of the greeting, this stamp would be perfect for making all your tags too...hmmm, another thing to add to my list...
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow for the other projects from this class,
sarah-janerae@sky.com . So do you want to see what we will be making? of course ;0)
The card we will be making is an easel style using the Flight of the butterfly set coupled with Tea Party papers, here is the card ...
And to match we will be making a lavender pillow, stamped in co-ordinating colours onto twill tape, an idea first used by Monica for her 3D convention swaps, I loved it! Thanks for the inspiration Monica xxxxx
lastly, we will be making this matching box for the Lavender bag,
And here they are all together as a set,
I hope you like, I am really looking forward to this class, don't forget, only 2 places left!
Right, must dash and fetch the kiddies :0) Thanks for dropping by,
New Home Easel Card
Evening all,
Super quick post tonight as I still have to pack and I'm off to work too ! I have made a new home card today for BIL and SIL who are moving to Scotland in a couple of weeks, they are having a little get together on Friday but I will miss it as I am in Germany, here is the card for Neil and the kids to take with them :0)
It is another easel card as I think they are just something a bit different for special occasions, base card is Kraft,
All in the Family set used to make "mini Ian and Gills" with their 2 dogs, alphabet is Short Order which is sadly retired now, perfect size tho for this project, don't ya think? Kraft taffeta ribbon underneath the image,
Patterned paper is Bella Bleu, a lovely mix of Kraft, blue and pale yellows, {yum}
Front view with the Eyelet border punched strip to hold the top up, Sincere Salutations used for the Good Luck message,
Right that's it from me, I have taken photos of the swaps I have made so will schedule some piccies in for you to see whilst I am away,
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in over the weekend and next week to get all the goss on convention :0)
Hugs to you all,
Sarah-Jane xxxxx
It's a Girl!
Hello,
I hope you are well today ;0) I have made a card today for a friend who had a baby girl last week, I haven't seen her tho as I am still poorly :0( and wouldn't want to pass it onto mum or baby.
I used Queue Up for this one, a lovely hostess set which can be earned for free!
I used my pro markers to colour the prams in for a change, Eyelet border punch used across the bottom
Ribbon, thread and charm from stash,
I used some of the retired Sweet Always papers and textured pretty in pink card to mat,
Here is the inside, stamped using a level 1 hostess set "punches 3"
Finally a dimensional shot,
Well that's it for today,
Take Care and thanks for stopping by,
Hugs, Sarah-Jane xxx
