Shimmery Birthday Blooms

Hi there,
It's so easy to get swept up in the excitement of all the lovely new products available but I do like to remind myself every so often of the many lovely stamps that I already have! So, with that in mind today's cards use the Birthday Blooms stamps. I do love to colour and this set is so lovely so when I got a new set of Gansai shimmer paint recently I was keen to have a play. Unfortunately it is quite hard to photograph the lovely colour and get the shimmer to show as well, but I gave it a go ;-)
I stamped the flower image and heat embossed it in white on watercolour paper so it was nice and easy to colour. Here's the pink version...
And a Wisteria Wonder base to compliment this purple flower...
I had a lot of fun colouring these flowers to send as thank you cards :-)
Why not break out one of your "old" sets and have a play today ;-)

Using Stampin' Up's Birthday Blooms For An Easy, Floral, Watercoloured Card

Hello,
Today I have a card that I made back in May (I think) which sadly kept being pushed down the "to blog" list! I know! Anyway, I thought you might like to see it now? So, as I made this before the new catalogue came out the DSP is retired but you could easily substitute it for any of the new ones in this catalogue ;-)
A  little banner feature with some white twine a-top
I heat embossed this lovely flower in white onto shimmery white card, which incidentally I find a little on the vanilla side of white so if you need something 'less white' than SU! thick white card for colouring, (I'm thinking Christmas here ;-)) then you could choose this - then I coloured it using my aqua painter and the wisteria wonder, so saffron and mint macaron ink pads.
And one last photo for today.
OK, that's me for today. I'm off to edit some more pics this evening and then tomorrow I am prepping for Saturday class. It's going to be an awesome one, we are using the Floral Boutique stamps and dies! I can't wait!

Using Stampin' Up's Birthday Blooms and Number of Years for a Pink Birthday Card.

Hi there,
Today's card uses the Birthday Blooms stamps teamed with it's coordinating DSP pack Birthday Bouquet. Happily the stamps are staying in the upcoming new catalogue but very sadly the papers are going forever at the end of the month! You can see the retirement lists HERE.
I love this flower for watercolouring and I think these are just about my favourite papers ever...
I stamped and heat embossed the flower in white onto shimmery white card.
This card does watercolour really well but I think it's got a hint of cream to it rather than bright white so I fussy cut it out for this card...
Sentiment is from Number Of Years. Love how they are separate stamps so you can stamp them next to each other (like here) or differently to suit your project or space :-)
I added a silver sharpie coloured White Perfect Accent and a strip of the SaB glitter tape underneath
The flower was gently curved with my bone folder and added using dimensionals in the centre
and one more pic to finish
So, thats all from me today.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card, this time using some new DSP.
Hope to see you here!

Silver Promotion Card using Birthday Blooms by SU! for a Monochrome Look

Hello there,
I have a card today that I made for my lovely downline Angel for promoting to Silver with Stampin' Up! I am so proud for her for achieving this goal and this is the card I made for her in a monochrome silver colourway, of course! Have a peek...
I stamped this lovely flower from Birthday Blooms using versamark and heat embossed it in, yes, you guessed it, silver! Then coloured it in using an aqua painter and my Smoky Slate ink pad.
I love how this changed this image completely from vintage and shabby chic to classy and elegant.
I used some of the silver glitter tape from SaB down the side (but you could swap it out for glimmer paper if you don't have this) and topped it with a silver sequin strip.
Wouldn't this make a fab silver wedding card too?
Angela chose a PL album and pages for her promotion gift and I wrapped it to match
with some of every silver ribbon I had ;-)
OK, I'm going to finish today with one last picture of the card. I really hope you liked this? It's one of my faves ;-)
Just to let you know I'm closing this months hostess code on Saturday evening so if you'd like bonus gift in the post from me in May then please use the code below with your order before then :-)
Thanks for looking today.
