Search for cardsandacuppa for more ideas!

Hello and welcome to my cardsandacuppa blog!
So, you may have noticed I'm not blogging on here so much lately? I did a post on my Instagram and Facebook recently explaining all but I wanted to hop over to here and share what's going with my lovely blog readers too :-)
I do love this blog and I am so very grateful for you taking the time reading the babble I write ;-)
But, I have found in recent weeks/months I am struggling to keep up with everything both at home and online so I made a decision to share more cards and quicker! That basically means I am sharing full cards on social media most days instead of (always) waiting 'till I get chance to blog them "properly".
I am still keeping this blog (and of course all the tutorials and creations on here) and have commited to at least one post fortnightly for my DT role at Inspire. Create Challenges.
I have to be honest and tell you I've found that I really do share more now!
So, having said all that I have made another decision today. I have decided I am going to start to do a weekly round up of what I have shared on social media, starting this Friday (tomorrow).
The post will be less chatty with fewer pictures and all the cards can be found on my Facebook and Instagram during the week before I post here. So to be in the know, first, please do check out my social media sites and follow me there. All links are at the end of this post or simply search "cardsandacuppa".
I am always grateful to my followers both here and on social media so I really do hope this change will be good for everybody? Thanks for following and for reading today's post.
So until Fridays round up,
Happy Stamping!

Bloom By Bloom Card

Hello and happy saturday to you!
I have the weekend off work (yay!) and I'm really hoping that the weather is nice enough to sit in the garden ;-)
But first I have a card to share with you today that I made waaaay back in November (I told you I was behind in my blogging, lol) using the Bloom by Bloom stamps and papers.
The card base is one of the navy blue notecards (links at the end of this post) and I liked these patterns so much I purchased some of the matching Memories and More cards to use for some quick and easy cards soon too!
I added a banner sentiment and a few enamel dots to accent the pretty coral bow.
And don't the matching envelopes just finish this project off perfectly?
Well, that's today's post for you but I'll be back tomorrow with another make.
I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! Thanks for stopping by today :-)

Gingham Paper and Dual Stitched Edged Rectangle Dies!

Hello to you today!
I have a really fun card for you today using the soon to be retiring Amazing Life stamps which are currently in a bundle with the, thankfully remaining, dual stitched rectangles. Gee, that's a mouthful, lol! Basically if you want the stamp set you could get it as a bundle now and save 10% or else you'll still be able to get the dies when the new catalogue comes out but not the stamps.
Anyway, I loved making this card as it really shows off the dual stitching of these rectangle dies and teamed with the gingham paper I think this gives this card a super, spring like feel...
I simply held two dies together, skipping the middle size, using washi tape (or a post it note) before die cutting off the edge of a card front sized (10.5cm x 14.8cm UK size) thick white card layer.
Add a card sized piece of gingham paper (it would look great in all colours, I think) flat to the card base before topping with the large part of the die cut card layer using foam pads.
Decorate the inserts using the Amazing Life stamps (I coloured these flowers using my blender pens and ink pads) and add them in, again with foam pads, to finish.
So, that's todays make, what do you think? I'm really hoping it inspires the better weather to make a return here ;-)
I have (another) a super busy week here but I will definately be back on Wednesday with another Inspire. Create. Challenge post so I do hope you'll join me then?
Thanks so much for looking today,

Navy and Old Olive with the Needle and Thread Bundle

Hello!
Man, I'm so far behind with this blogging malarky that this post published without me having time to even write it! My bad!
So, this is another Needle and Thread card we made at class, I love this pretty paper and of course the colours are just right up my street too, take a look...
There was a whole bunch of stamping and die cutting for this make accented with some of the outline die cuts and some Old Olive linen thread.
Love this stitched edge die that works with the Pretty Label Punch. And you can see much better the stitched floral die used for the background behind the flowers here too!
OK, so if you are seeing this for the first time hello and thank you and if you are just here to read the words to go with the pictures you've already seen then thank you for coming back! lol!

Fabulous Flamingo CAS Card

Hello there,
I have a super fun, single layer card and going back to the basics of simply card and ink!
This is a triple layer stamp set so I stamped the flamingo in Powder Pink then Flirty Flamingo and finally the outline using Memento black ink.
I stamped the sentiment in both Flamingo and then Memento for a shadow effect.
The leaves, water and reeds are all included in the set too :-)

Half Glitter Large Letters Birthday Card

Hi there!
It's another wet day here but I have managed to get plenty of jobs done this week including all the washing so my weekend off will be a tiny bit more of a weekend off ;-)
But right now let's see the card for today. I made this card made for our daughters birthday in March and I used some SaB papers (Bubbles and Fizz) with a simple half glittered name and a touch of black to make it pop! Let's see...
To make these half glitter letters I added three stacked strips of Myths and Magic washi to thick white card, wide enough to get all the letters across, before die cutting with large letter framelits. I then die cut the name twice more from thick white card and layered the letters up to make them stand out on the card.
This sentiment is from the (retiring) Happiest Of Days stamp set, heat embossed in white onto black card. I also added a little silver tinsel trim (which is in the clearance rack now for just £3.30 for a pack with both red and silver! Go!)
I was chatting with a fellow demo recently about why adding a little black to some cards was a good choice (she didn't agree) but I think it gives this card is perfect for showing how black can give your project just a little lift, don't you?
Stacked die cuts are much easier than dimensionals for thin/small shapes like this.
Adding a little DSP inside ties it all together. I don't always do this but I really should do it more as often as all you need is a couple of little offcuts that usually end up in the bin anyway ;-)
And that's it, the birthday girl (said she) loved her card and now, what do you think?
That's all from me for today, I'm going to get editing some more pics now so I will be back to share another card with you tomorrow :-)
'Till then, happy stamping!
