Little Elves from Santa's Workshop

Hello there!
I'm finally back home from my visit to see my Dad which was lovely. Yesterday was a write off with the traveling but today I'm on with the washing (not too bad, tnh) and putting everything away (tons of stuff!) as we won't be needing it again for a good while ;-)
So, today is the very last day to earn your vouchers off next months shopping as the Bonus Days promo is finishing :-(  It's also just a few short days now 'till you can see the new Autumn/Winter catalogue online and of course, start ordering from it! If you'd like a hard copy then please do drop me a line...
I'd like to share another Christmas make with you using the Santa's Workshop suite and today I've got a couple of the little elves on the card! Let's see...
I used the DSP again for the images and simply die cut them out with the matching dies. They are fab because they work with both the DSP and the stamps!
I die cut a stitched edge circle in both Garden Green card and Vellum.
TIP: Adhere the elves (with a tiny bit of) glue to the vellum circle, leave to dry. Then add the vellum circle to the green card layer using glue but just where the elves are so it doesn't show!
Sequins (of course) and some small print paper from the pack finish this card today.
Right, I'm off to sort out some class dates, ready for the next few months! Message me of you'd like to join in the fun!

Smitten Mittens with Year Of Cheer DSP

Hello!
Today's card is a super simple make and again makes the most out of SU! DSP. Today I used the Year Of Cheer papers with the mitten dies from the Smitten Mittens bundle. These papers are really lovely IRL as every sheet is foil embossed. That makes this card quick but sparkly! A perfect combination, I'm sure you'll agree...
I also added a Tinsel Trim knot at the top of the card for the twine to sit around.
I stamped the background using night of navy ink and the matching stamps but the sentiment is from the Hug in a Mug stamp set, how well does that work with these mittens?!
Right, I'm off to Birmingham later today as tomorrow is On Stage, Stampin' Up's bi-annual event for upcoming products! I can't wait, not just for the stamps (of course), but to catch up with all my long distance SU! buddies!
I will schedule a few posts here though so don't worry, there'll still be plenty to see. And of course, I'll be posting updates, when I can, on Instagram so be sure to follow me there too!

Carols Of Christmas With A Modern Twist!

Hi there,
Today's card is in total contrast to yesterday's traditional Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green make, but still uses use the Carols of Christmas stamps! This is such a versatile set and (I think) the ladies at class enjoyed using it in so many different ways :-)
OK, so this card teams this festive set with the Work Of Art stamps! I know, you haven't seen me use that set in a while but it's a really great set, you'll see.....
Here I've used a colour combo of Wisteria Wonder, Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party but this card would work equally well in many other colour combinations too, why not give your favourites a whirl?
I added a black deer with the die cut trees, in keeping with the modern feel.
And some matching coloured, double tree die cuts to decorate inside.
All finished with some (retired) sparkly sequins :-)
So, what did you think? Do you prefer the traditional or non-traditional colours? Let me know in the comments section :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with a new card, 'till then, happy stamping!

Carols Of Christmas Card - Case Myself!

Hi there!
I have a card for you today using the Carols of Christmas bundle again! This is such a versatile set which would easily see you right through Christmas ;-)
So, this card layout was based on a card I made a few weeks ago for the first ever Inspire. Create. Challenge, you can see it HERE. I liked the layout so much and it would work well with so many different stamp sets...
This is the largest of the stitched edge circles and I didn't want the bulk of an extra layer behind so...
TIP: Roll the circle layer through your ink pad to make it pop from the card front, without adding extra layers.
The leaves have their own die and the flowers can also be die cut out using the corner pieces from the Card Front Builder dies...
TIP: Stamp the flowers then lay the corner die over the image, rotating until it fits in the space, as the flower is not symmetrical! A bit fiddly, but worth it ;-)
Adding some sequins and a thin strip of glimmer paper finishes this card with a little bling!
So, do you like this layout? I'd love to see you make something using it! And when you do why not enter it into the Inspire. Create. Challenge this fortnight which is a (very general) "Festive" themed challenge, perfect!
Thanks for looking today :-)

Watercolour Christmas in Tranquil Tide and Navy

Happy Sunday to you! I hope your weekend is going well? I am currently upside down here as we are decorating our bedroom and my DH is in the U.S of A right now for work too! I am still deciding on a colour for the bedroom walls and it's actually not too far from this Tranquil Tide mixed with Night of Navy and I'm thinking of gold accessories, very much the same as the card I have to show you here....
I wanted to use the tres in this stamp set to make a card and so I simply stamped them in Tranquil Tide then very roughly watercoloured them using the same ink using my aqua painter.

I love the font in this set! I so wish my handwriting was like that ;-)
Die cut the sentiment with the stitched edge framelits and layer onto some Champagne foil card for a little shimmer and sparkle! Finish with some (retired) Navy twine and a few sequins before adding to a navy card base.
Thanks so much for looking today :-)
I'll try to escape the chaos and get back to you tomorrow with another card, 'till then,
