Simply Stampin' Sketch

Hello there,
Hope your week has been a good one, I can hardly believe its Saturday again! So that means time for another Simply Stampin' Challenge and this week it's a sketch again, another fab one I think ;-)
And this is what I made, it is for a friend's Uncle actually and I used a Soft Suede and Baja Breeze colour combo to match the Elegant Soiree DSP
Happy Birthday is from the level 1 hostess set "Afterthoughts" and was inked with my markers and stamped across with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-Jig, I am not very good at straight by eye you see ;-)
Star punch, perfect for mens cards and Star brads, I so miss these since they retired :-( you can probably just make out the stitching but I should have used a more contrasting thread I think?
I added depth with dimensionals as you can see here, love a bit of depth, not great for posting but worth it for a special someone I think ;-)
and a couple of stars inside to finish too,
Well, it is Aunty Amber's birthday today (my sis but everyone calls her that, even my friends ;-)) she is coming round for lunch today so I have got loads to do (no change there I hear!)
Thanks for visiting today and be sure to go and check out the other DT's designs, we would love it if you had a go too :-D

Simply Stampin' Sketch

Hello and happy Saturday to you!
And Saturday means it's time for another Simply Stampin' Challenge. This week we have a fabby sketch for you to try out :-) Hop over for lots more inspiration from the very talented DT ladies,

and this is what I came up with, it's a bright one this week, in the vain hope of some summer eventually arriving!!
I used the lovely Cheers to You for the summer cocktails and Tart and Tangy for the background and cherries on the front panel,
After stamping and colouring a row of glasses I cut them out with the SU! exclusive Top Note Die and covered the "glass" part in crystal effects,
Summer bunting was stamped with Dot, Dot, Dot and punched out using the star punch, the string is crotchet thread and attached with brads,
and I used some of the scraps inside,
So, what do you think of this weeks sketch? Great huh?
I really hope you will be able to join in with us this week and I look forward to seeing your creations,
Thanks for dropping by today,

Simply Stampin' You've got Male

Good Morning!
And Welcome to another Simply Stampin' Challenge! This weeks theme, as it is Father's Day tomorrow, is You've got Male! so we would like very much this week to see your paper crafts for the men in your life.
I was asked to make a card for a friends Dad who likes army/soldiers, I have to admit I was a bit stumped to begin with as I don't really have any stamps which would be suitable... but then it hit me!!
I used some of the lovely crumb cake paper from the neutrals DSP stack for the background with layers of Basic Black and on a base of Always Artichoke card stock,
I made the army style shirt using a piece of retired Old Olive DSP and coloured the ribbon with the Always Artichoke marker pen to make a tie, finishing off the epaulettes with a tiny gold brad :-D
This width of twill tape is retired but we still carry a thinner one, I love how it looks when it is stamped, here using the Something to Celebrate stamp set (again!)
and I decorated the inside too,
I was really pleased with how this card turned out, especially as I really had no idea when I was first asked to make it, don't you love it when it comes together like this??
Well, we really hope you will be able to join in with this weeks challenge, pop over to the challenge blog for tons more inspiration from the rest of the very talented DT.
Thanks again for stopping by today, I love it when you visit me,

Golf at 70!

Good Morning!
Well, what a lovely day we had yesterday and here's hoping that today is another good one, I am really ready for the summer ;-)
So, I was asked by a friend to make a card for her Dad who had a special birthday coming, she wanted his age nice and big (lol) and he adores golf, so this is what I came up with...
The base was made using Sahara Sand with Not Quite Navy and the In Colour, Poppy Parade, {{a peek ahead, we will be using In Colours at next months techniques class}}
I printed the sentiment from the computer and added punched stars, covering two of them in Crystal Effects
I stamped the background using a couple of stamps from Circle Circus, it seems to be my 'go to' set for male backgrounds, DSP is the FREE set from the level one hostess pack, contact me for details on how you can have it for FREE too,
I have had the golfing buttons in my stash for an age,
As always, I decorated the inside, but left a large enough space to write too :-)
That's all for today. Thanks, as ever, for visiting, I love having you over ;-)

Father's Day Class

Good morning to you today,
I want to share with you today the project we will be making at  this months 'Father's Day' class next week, I still have a few spaces left on Tuesday or Saturday of you would like to join us, the cost is just £10 with all supplies included (except photos) or FREE with a spend of £35! contact me on sarah-janerae@sky.com to reserve your place.
So we will be making this brilliant Brag Book which my lovely downline Anna showed to me how to make, using just one sheet of 12x12, when she came and visited with me a while back, thanks Anna, this is such a great project xx I have also made a very basic card to go with this book.
As you can see I chose Basic Grey DSP for my book but you will be able to choose from the Neutrals paper pack to make your brag book with of course co-ordinating satin ribbon,
When you come to this class you will need to bring between 10-14 pictures, each around 6cm square but no larger than 7cm square, they will all fit onto one A4 sheet for printing, again, message me if you need more help with this :-)
Here are my pages, I decided to print my pics in Sepia using Real Red accents with the star stamp from  Itty Bitty Bits and punch,

and we will package them both in a Medium cello bag,
I hope you will be able to join us this month and as always you will receive as much or as little help as you need to re-create this project,

Monster of a Card

Hello,
In a week or so my friend and upline Julie is having a team training day, I cannot make it this time unfortunately but I am participating in the Card Candy swap so that's what I have been doing the last few days. I am pleased with the end result but I will have to wait to blog them until when the are going to be swapped so as not to spoil the surprise for the other members of the team ;-)
So, back to this card, I just fancied playing with this monster set the other day as I have had it for ages and not really gotten round to playing with it, I used the colour coach for the combo again, it is Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzaz and Tempting Turquoise,

The little banner is made using the star punch and the balloons are from Party this Way, it really is such a great set and the little star in the background is from Every Little Bit,

and an arty angle,

so a quick and easy little card for a boy today, I am going to clean my car this morning, boo, but then I hope to get inky later,
Have a great day whatever you are up to and thanks for stopping by to visit today xx

Happy Birthday Jack

Hello,
Zack has another party on Sunday and so I made this card for his friend Jack, I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch n0 167 using the Make a Monster set, I have had this stamp set now for a few weeks and just haven't had a chance to play with it.. also I foolishly thought it would take ages to design and colour... how wrong I was!! it was actually super quick! {P.S. I will deny I ever said I was wrong if you tell anyone else, I am never wrong, ask my hubby ;-D lol!}

the colours I used for this were chosen totally from this little number 6 which is from the Play Date DSP (in this share) Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and a touch of Choc Chip. I made the today from Basic Phrases by inking the to and day using Marker Pens then punched it out with the Word Window,
Here is a close up of the first monster, they were both coloured with blender pens,
and the second,
and a piccie of the inside,

Josh has a party on Saturday too so I will share the card for that with you as soon as I get it photographed as it was dark by the time I finished tonight, another busy weekend, lets hope the snow stays off a bit so they can both go ;-)
Thanks for stopping by today

Happy Fathers Day and a Simple Boys Card

Hello
First of all Happy Fathers Day to all you men out there!
Hows your weekend going? We are having a very quiet day as hubby is back in hospital with his kidney stones! and for Fathers Day too, boo :-( We are re-scheduling it 'till next Sunday I think!
But other things keep going while he is away, the walls are almost finished on the extension so that's one good thing ;-)
I have been keeping busy whilst I am here on my own as I have 6 birthdays next month, all done and ready but I will have to show you as they come round as I know a few of the people read this blog!
I have a really simple card I made for Josh to take to his friends 13th birthday (ooo, teenage boys, not the easiest to make for, but I think this worked out O.K.) last weekend, it uses Sweet Pea dsp (only available 'till the end Sept so better get some quick!)
Name stamped with Schoolbook Serif alphabet, punched stars (what would I do without this punch for male cards?) Sentiment from A Bit of Birthday Cheer and a couple of Earth Elements buttons to finish it off,

Arty Angle, I layered the main sentiment and a couple of the stars too and roughed up a few of the layers too,
Sorry for the short post, I hope to be back tomorrow but off to hospital to visit the patient now, Thanks for stopping by and Stampin' hugs to you all,

Milk Carton for Dad's Day

Hello to you all,
I have popped on here to share a few photos of another Milk Carton I have made to send to my dad for Father's Day, I have filled it with sweets for him, all ready to post on Monday. I hope it gets there in time (it's got to go to Spain!)
They are busy digging the footings today for the extension today so I have not got any jobs to do in the house without getting in someones way, so nothing else to do but play then eh?!
Here it is front and back, I covered the Kraft base using the Cheers to You wheel and versamark, star punched out from Sweet Pea Designer Paper, Beer Mug is from Cheers to you, sentiment is from the Occasional Greetings set, and the football and boot is Just Soccer. Yummy Old Olive Satin Ribbon wrapped with Linen Thread finishes off the top.
As you can see I made it to match the card I showed you a few weeks ago.
Milk Carton Tutorial link is in the side bar-> -> -> ->

Short and sweet today I'm afraid, hopefully I will be back tomorrow with some more cardy stuff to share with you all, in the mean time have a nice Saturday and if you watch the footie "Come on England" :-)
Stampin' Hugs to you all,
