Cute Mermaid with Blue Hair from Magical Day!

Hello there from a warm but now rainy Southampton! Although I must point out that I started writing this blog post when it was hot and sunny - last weekend *-* Time just seems to have run away with me this last week :-)
So, I've another Mermaid from the Magical Day stamp set (which I still call Myths and Magic. Every. Single. Time.) card for you today. I love how cute her hair looks in Pool Party blue...
I used my blends to colour her in, which will hopefully be available again to purchase very soon!
This set is leaving us at the end of May (maybe even sooner though) which I'm so sad about :-(
But the tag she sits on is from the Cake Soiree dies which are staying - albeit not with the 10% bundle saving, so if you have your eye on that set might be worth another look...
and finally the sentiment is from the (also soon to be retiring) Happiest of Days stamp set.
How cute is that pink tinsel ribbon?
OK, that's it from me, I have a lot of fun cards to share with you so I'll try my hardest to get some posts up on here this week. I hope you have a chance to craft this week, too...

Inspire. Create. Challenge #004 - A Colour Challenge!

Hello there,
It's time again for another challenge at Inspire. Create. Challenges. And this week is a lovely colour challenge using Island Indigo, Soft Sky, Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White.
I do always say a challenge is a great springboard for any crafter and in that spirit I've made not one, but two cards again this week ;-)
I've used the same stamp set for both cards - the "Happiest of Days" set, a great value and very versatile set! Hopefully, you'll agree....
This first card uses Island Indigo as the main colourway and is a more masculine make...
I stamped the gift image on thick white card using Memento ink, then coloured using ink pads and blender pens
Finished by adding a banner under the gifts to ground the images.
And this second card makes Flirty Flamingo the main colour to make this card a little more feminine...
I did have a little oops when photographing this make, let's pretend it's not there, shh! ;-)
And another, but different shaped banner, again heat embossed in white to finish this make!
So, do you have a favourite today?  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's makes on the Inspire. Create. Challenge blog for lots more ideas ;-)
Back soon with more crafty goodness,
'Till then

A Birthday Card Using Happiest Of Days by Stampin' Up!

Hello there,
Today's card uses the lovely new In Colour - Powder Pink, which I've teamed here with some Wisteria Wonder for this outdoor photo shoot! I loved the Happiest of Days stamp set as soon as I saw it with it fine lined images and pretty fonts so I knew I wanted to use this set for my friends birthday recently and this is what I made...
I started by stamping the background using Powder Pink and then colouring just some of the stripes and spots of the gifts using a blender pen and the same ink pad. I also went over the images using my Wink Of Stella clear pen, of course!
I also used some Powder Pink matching ribbon which I sandwiched between the topper layers for a little interest.
In The Know: I have made a video (currently, it just needs editing) for another card that also shares how to make your bows sit this way when tying them. So keep your eye out for that, coming soon ;-)
This sentiment inside the card is from the same stamp set.
And a few enamel spots to finish today.
Well, she seemed pleased with her card when I gave it to her, what do you think?
Thanks for looking today
