Making Two Vellum Window Cards using the Santa's Sleigh Reindeer by SU!

Hello and happy Saturday to you!
I have another duo of cards for you today this time using the very lovely Santa's Sleigh dies. Of course these dies are 10% cheaper when purchased as a bundle with the matching stamps but I've just used the dies on this card. I've used a sentiment from the Tin of Tags stamps which are still in the 25% off sale too, but only 'till the end of the month. OK, lets see these cards shall we....

 I used a red sharpie to colour a silver enamel shape (from the metallics pack which are in the online extravaganza from Monday, more info at the end of this post!)

 This design worked best when teaming a neutral pattern with a bold colour like this red plaid and crumb cake tree DSP.

 For this second design I swapped the position of the patterns around but stuck with the same neutral and bold combo.

 The tin of tags sentiments are definitely not just for tags! I have used them loads this Christmas.

  And I used the die cut deer from the front to decorate inside. No waste and a pretty inside :-)

Quick and Easy Card Using Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up!

Hello there,

Today I have a cute card that can be made quickly and easily with the gorgeous new Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up! 

I love the whole Floral Boutique suite with the matching stamps and DSP and am very much looking forward to using them in July's upcoming class. However, if you come here often you'll know I do like to change things up (see HERE for my recent watercoloured background card using these dies) and so I made this card in a Melon Mambo and crisp white colourway....

 The sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set

 I love these dies. I used the edge cutting one for this card too which fits with both the small and large die from the set, very clever!

Easy (Cheats) Inlaid Die Cutting with Stampin' Up's Greetings Thinlits- Tutorial Included :-)

Hello there,

So, did you love my Butterfly Thinlits Inlaid Die Cutting video last Saturday? It was one of my favourite cards I have made recently but I do realise that it was quite a complicated, drawn out process. Obviously we haven't always got time to do that on every card so how about I share with you a cheats version of that card?? You can make this card really quickly and easily, so easy in fact I added it to my Stamp-a-Stack class this week (10 cards -5 different- in 3 hours). Lets take a look...

Here's how to get this inlaid die cut look with less effort :

Simply add three strips of Pretty Petals DSP, each measuring 1.5cm wide, down the side of a Whisper White card layer 9.5cm x 13.8cm using tombow glue (use glue rather than tape for this as it needs to be adhered all along the strip) and trim away the ends. 

Then die cut your chosen Greetings Thinlit from the white card and DSP layer. 

Next die cut the word again in Watermelon Wonder card. 

Add the white card to a black card layer (10cm x 14.3cm) ensuring you add plenty of adhesive around the edges where the greeting is cut away- again, tombow is perfect. 

Now add tiny dots of tombow to the back of your word and insert it into the gap in the white card.

Add these layers to a Watermelon card blank (A5 or 10.5cm x 29.6cm, scored at 14.8cm) and finish with a coat of Crystal Effects on the word.

I do love me a bit of Crystal Effects! It really makes this greeting really pop!

One last thing to note - as I type right now - the Magnetic Platform is reduced to just £25.20 from £36.00 on the weekly deals but they are now "while stocks last" so if you have been coveting one of these please order yours asap!!
